lol! Well first of all Gil is a clown. He does stuff for click bait and has his head so far up Lebron's a$$ I wouldn't be surprised if sometimes when Lebron speaks we hear Gils voice from down below.
Podz is a strange cat. He can actually create his own shot, but for some reason 90% of the time when he does so, he doesn't shoot. He does that annoying hezzy and tries to pass the ball as if he doesn't want to hurt his stats. Now that he's been paid, I'm hoping we see a change in his mentality. In the playoffs he's actually a bit more aggressive. He CAN take a shot, he just doesn't most of the time. But in his favour he's a decent defender, and he definitely has a fairly high IQ. I'm ok with the deal for a number of reasons, I think it's one that GSW had to do, otherwise I think it would have become an issue for young players to think twice about wanting to come to the Bay. Secondly, he largely does what he's asked to do. He's a decent rebounder, can make an assist and is smart navigating the lanes as can be seen by his taking charges. Obviously this isn't a D-Book or Donovan Mitchell. Far from it! But he's a serviceable guard that would make a decent contribution on a winning team. He is an asset. And now that he has the contract he can be packaged as part of a deal to get something better. If your point is that $22m per year is high then absolutely I agree with you. I see him as being in the $15 - 17m range of a player, based on the current CBA and how much players are being compensated. But this deal would have been difficult to conclude without this concession. So.. yes I'm happy it's done. I'm happy we can move on. By the way I think both Moody and Santos are way better than Podz.. and I'm mean waaaaaaaaay better. I rather suspect in their respective next contracts you'll find that both Gui and Moses will command higher next contracts than Podz, but this is what the NBA is now. I accept it
