I’m not surprised at all to see Jeanie play hardball. She is the only one left in that family that wears the pants and she knows she can bully her brothers. She will do whatever she can to keep any kind of Buss ownership with the Lakers as that is their legacy.
Its people on this board that know more about running a basketball team than Jim Buss and his other dumb ass siblings

I knew this would be monstrous when the news first broke. But that penalty…that’s like 2 death penalties for a sports team. They may as well move that bum squad to Seattle as the city will be glad to take them and then maybe 10 years from now they’ll have a chance to be decent.

And Kawhi being let off with a slap on the wrist is beyond wild. Does he have nudes of Silver or something?
I watched Windhorst talk about this. He has a point. If the Kawhi to Toronto trade goes through, the Clippers will have first round draft picks. Also, quite frankly, most teams are absolute dog shite a using draft picks, so it's always less bad than it looks. I'm not saying it's great. It's a disaster, but perhaps not as bad as we instinctively think. To be honest this CBA with it's hard cap... in a funny way... it might make things less bad too

I read about this the other day. While it is hilarious, it is also worth noting that if the genders were reversed the male reporters would be canned the next day.
totally agree. Just like all those women at Flushing drooling over Carlito's shirt change. The hypocrisy is really grating

I see Jalen Duren did what we all knew he would. Took the $200m. What an idiot to turn it into an entitlement tantrum. Who in his team was telling him he was still a max player after that play off run. So embarrassing. If I were Detroit I would get rid of him as soon as possible. Frankly I think Sabonis is a better 5 than him anyway. Let the Kings have his fragile a$$. Can't have two guys allergic to shooting as part of your core.

What I really don't understand is why they got rid of Beef Stew. Am I the only one who sees the parallel with the Grizz getting rid of Dillon Brooks? These GM's don't seem to understand the value of culture setters anymore

saw highlights of the Wolves-Pacers. Melo Ball looks like he's going to flinging dimes around the place. Not sure what the defence is going to be like coming from him, but... that offence is going to be so much better this year I think. Definitely a League Pass favourite too

@Federberg Dude..this doesnt make any sense.. Dunleavy must have photos of Jacobs with teenage boys or something.. THIS MAKES NO SENSE.. Pods is not Step 2.0..
lol! He's a good player. A winning player. I think that's a good contract. It's at the higher end of what I was hoping for. $17-18m would have been more correct. But I think that's a contract you can trade. Let's not act like he got a super max or something

lol! Well first of all Gil is a clown. He does stuff for click bait and has his head so far up Lebron's a$$ I wouldn't be surprised if sometimes when Lebron speaks we hear Gils voice from down below.

Podz is a strange cat. He can actually create his own shot, but for some reason 90% of the time when he does so, he doesn't shoot. He does that annoying hezzy and tries to pass the ball as if he doesn't want to hurt his stats. Now that he's been paid, I'm hoping we see a change in his mentality. In the playoffs he's actually a bit more aggressive. He CAN take a shot, he just doesn't most of the time. But in his favour he's a decent defender, and he definitely has a fairly high IQ. I'm ok with the deal for a number of reasons, I think it's one that GSW had to do, otherwise I think it would have become an issue for young players to think twice about wanting to come to the Bay. Secondly, he largely does what he's asked to do. He's a decent rebounder, can make an assist and is smart navigating the lanes as can be seen by his taking charges. Obviously this isn't a D-Book or Donovan Mitchell. Far from it! But he's a serviceable guard that would make a decent contribution on a winning team. He is an asset. And now that he has the contract he can be packaged as part of a deal to get something better. If your point is that $22m per year is high then absolutely I agree with you. I see him as being in the $15 - 17m range of a player, based on the current CBA and how much players are being compensated. But this deal would have been difficult to conclude without this concession. So.. yes I'm happy it's done. I'm happy we can move on. By the way I think both Moody and Santos are way better than Podz.. and I'm mean waaaaaaaaay better. I rather suspect in their respective next contracts you'll find that both Gui and Moses will command higher next contracts than Podz, but this is what the NBA is now. I accept it :)

they're all clowns on there. That podcast can be entertaining, but it's not one of the serious ones. But as I said I can understand why GSW felt compelled to do this deal. Makes a hell of a lot more sense than the Kuminga saga, but here's the thing, after the Kuminga thing went to doody it made it extremely difficult not to do it. Again.. in my view the contract should have been in the $15-17m range, but paying a bit extra was worth it not to have a whole thing again this season. At some point everyone would start looking at GSW in askance. There's an element of brand defence in this deal. I think this is going to be a very tradeable contract, but at the same time I think there's a decent chance that Podz will actually be freed up to be more aggressive with his shots. I still think that Gui Santos and Moses Moody are better players and fit what they're trying to do there better. Please, I"m trying to be clear here. I understand why it had to be done. I'm in no way endorsing the size of the deal
