Hell Jannik DFs and blows the 3rd set 76(6)
Find your serve Jannik you had BPs in that 3rd set and could not convert? and you were leading 3-0 at one stage in the TB?
You will have to take the scenic route home now
I have to give credit to Miomir he is playing great tennis and Jannik cant find consistency for long periods of time

Another example of Sinner not being clutch. Up 3-0 in the tiebreak, and a set point, and still loses. This is becoming a pattern, and the French Open is not a one-off.

We have seen what happens when Sinner tries to take the scenic route. He hasn't dug deep to win a match since the 2024 AO comeback to Medvedev. Barring Kecmanovic having a Dmitrov moment, Sinner is going to be first rounded.

I might have to revise my upset prediction from the 3rd to 1st round. Ouch.
Really it isnt over yet, and I give credit to Miomir, though Jannik cant find consistency for long periods of time, I expected him to be rusty his serve has let him down and he cant convert the BPs he had in the 3rd set also he had a ball fall and there is blood coming through his shoe

I hope you're right, Margaret, as I really like Sinner and am a "quasi-fan," but I've had a bad feeling about him after RG and it hasn't dissipated.

My predictions:

Quarterfinals
Top half: Jodar defeats Sinner in the 3rd round. Paul defeats Jodar in the QF. Novak beats FAA in the QF.
Bottom half: Berrettini upsets Shelton, then beats Cobolli; Fritz beats Zverev.

Semifinals
Novak beats Paul
Fritz beats Berrettini

Novak wins #25 - then announces his retirement while hoisting the trophy.
Who do I complain to about my blood pressure?! :popcorn

Jannik is not putting enough pressure on the return of serve.. Jannik is just pushing the ball back in play.. I still feel he will figure this out.. Cahill needs to get off his butt and send some good vibrations.

I have a bad feeling about Sinner anytime the going gets tough. I really wish he would just go all out, like what Fonseca did against Djokovic at the French Open.

Sinner plays too passive at key moments. Look at the 4th and 5th sets at the Australian Open semifinal against Djokovic.

Let's be honest, Sinner got lucky winning Wimbledon last year. It was a perfect storm: Dmitrov getting injured up 2 sets, then Djokovic coming in compromised after hurting himself in the penultimate point of the previous match (against Cobolli), and Alcaraz having a bad day in the final.

Sinner isn't really good on grass. He's struggled against players like Medvedev, Bublik, Dmitrov, and now Kecmanovic.

When Djokovic struggled, it was to great players like Federer, Murray, and del Potro (people forget how great he was from 2009-12 or 13, before the injuries came). Djokovic should have been the favorite, not a +600.

Just tuning in. Who’s marvelous idea for Red to come to SW19 w/ no matches?

You know it could be that without Carlos, Sinner is feeling a different kind of heat. Carlos is the greater player and we’re not surprised if he wins anywhere in the world. He’s won a career slam at barely a couple of months younger than Jannik was when he won his first slam. He’s special - and Jannik was positioned well as a guy chasing him, the underdog. But now the underdog is expected to win everything in Carlos absence, and maybe without the shadow of Carlos to protect him from certain scrutinies, he’s facing much greater heat?

BBC reporting that Jannik has lost something like 9 out of his last ten five setters..

It was a mutal decision from Jannik and his team, he needed rest after playing a long season on the HC and then all the clay season
