BTW seeing this is Jannik's first match on grass and he has had a long period off, I dont expect him to whiz through his first match
He lost the 1st set 64, that is the 1st set that Kecmanovic has taken off Jannik, Jannik's DFs lead to the break and Kecmanovic won the 1st set, but now is serving for the 2nd set which he won 63
Jannik finding his range better, he still is rusty in parts of his game

not so sure about that, but I will say this... the heatwave is coming back at the end of the week. I honestly don't see Sinner surviving it. This is going to be a magnitude hotter than it was in Paris
There will be an Mandatory Heat Rule in place if the heat wave happens again and Jannik has been practicing in the heat at Wimbledon when he arrived

I cant believe this young mans Bad Luck
Jack Draper has withdrawn due to an arm injury? Fritz will play a LL tomorrow
Jack Draper's body is just made of glass sad to say, he just cant seem to compete in tennis at this level without getting injured

I hear you, but unless they stop the whole thing... they'll have to play at some point. I don't wish him ill, I'm just saying if he plays someone who can take him into deep waters... could be a wrap

Lets see okay lets cross that bridge if it happens, I think his draw over all is okay and we dont know if other players are going to get defeated along the way that could really bother him, he is rusty at present in his first match back, I expected that
BTW I knew you dont wish him ill, not like a few other posters on this board

Safiullin d Rublev (12) 46 67(6) 36 63 76(12)
Since falling to 0-10 in the Slam QFs at the AO 2024, Rublev is now 0-19 'reaching in the QFs at slams

Something not RIGHT with Sinner.. Never seen him double fault this much.. As for the heat, rumor is Novak and the Serbians destroyed the ac on CC, they said real men do need air conditioning when playing tennis

This one didn't surprise me - when I saw the draw, my "upset radar" pinpointed Hurkacz over Ruud (not too hard to guess), but also this one.

Bummer about Draper, but not for Fritz, who I now see as the clear favorite to reach Sascha in the QF. That bottom half is wide open...oh wait, that sounds a bit naughty.

I think Rudd prefers to play golf on the grass than play tennis at Wimbledon quite frankly
To me Fritz is the stand out American, his game suits the grass, and he has been playing well before Wimbledon, and we all know the result if Fritz plays Sasha? especially on grass

My predictions:

Quarterfinals
Top half: Jodar defeats Sinner in the 3rd round. Paul defeats Jodar in the QF. Novak beats FAA in the QF.
Bottom half: Berrettini upsets Shelton, then beats Cobolli; Fritz beats Zverev.

Semifinals
Novak beats Paul
Fritz beats Berrettini

Novak wins #25 - then announces his retirement while hoisting the trophy.

Given his history in 5-setters, I feel like Sinner almost has to win this 3rd set. After what happened at the AO and French Open, the last thing Sinner needs is to face is a potential 5-setter to open his Wimbledon run.

What Jodar hasnt had any matches on grass at this level and has come in with an abdominal scare? I cant see him defeating Jannik

This feels like the 2022 French Open all over again. People are foolishly counting out an aging champion. Novak +600 is going to make so much profit, just like Rafa +400 at the 2022 French Open.

Ruud either changes his playing schedule to get some grass legs or miss the grass season all together I mean why even play if you not prepared to train on the grass

Its just rust AP, he lost his serve DF and lost the 1st set because of it, I expect him to be rusty he hasnt had any pre match tournaments on grass, won the 2nd set 63 and is leading in the 3rd set TB he had a very bad fall on the slippery grass seems okay now,
