You can't give pts. for something lit'l more > a glorified exhib.! The YEC is probably the only event that gives out pts. when others don't qualify!
I know you enjoy being outraged, but this seems like yet another case of "outraged just to be outraged." I mean, who cares if it is a glorified exhibition? I'm trying to understand why its so offensive to you. Laver Cup doesn't offer ATP points either, but everyone seems to like it ok. I'd argue it has taken over the Davis Cup as the top exo.

United Cup does offer ATP points, but the same as other lower level tournaments: "best seven other" tournaments after Slams/TF/mandatory Masters.

Believe it or not, I don't watch much either; Laver or United Cup since the Big 3 left! I haven't even looked at the UC since the 1st yr. it was still "The ATP Cup" when Djokovic def Nadal in the final! The Laver Cup is a complete joke! Several yrs. ago when it still had Djokovic, he lost all his matches as the clear #1 player in the world! He obviously wasn't taking the event seriously even then! Outrage is a bit strong! It's more about my disappointment in their hypocrisy of the "calendar being so tough," but willing to "wing around the world" to play exhs. at a moment's notice!

Just to clarify JCF statements about returning to the tour as a coach next year in 2027, but he could not say which player he was coaching
JCF was taken out of context in an interview, declaring that he has nothing finalized regarding coaching in 2027
Talking to Punto de Break, clarifying that he would only return to the ATP of a 'project truly motivates him"
BTW, JFC presents his first autobiographical book " Winning Mentality' which should be out soon.

Multiple people wounded in a blast at Riyadh airport yesterday, where flights were also cancelled
Should they cancel the Six Kings Exho? it is scheduled to take place October 21,22 and 26
( our officials here in Australia has warned us not to fly into Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Middle East for many months due to the continued unrest in the Middle East, I took their advice and flew to London first before flying to Italy for holidays in September)

Things are looking grim, last night another ballistic attack at Riyadh's International Airport left more than 300 injured and at least 12 dead. The situation is worsening and the Six Kings Slam, is supposed to take place in a week and a half.
Quite frankly the Six Kings Slam should be cancelled, I assume Alcaraz, Zverev and Fritz are planning to fly there from Shanghai.

Nothing should be scheduled in S.A. Remember all the trouble they had getting Meddy and the others flights out of Doha when the thing first started.

Frances Tiafoe has withdrawn from next week's ATP250 Lyon tournament due to a leg injury
Flavio Cobolli will replace Tiafoe and will be the No 1 seed

NOTE:
Tiafoe is still in contention for the ATP Finals in Turin, in 6th place with updated points 3,330., though this withdrawal does hamper his chances to add points
He is tightly pursued by players like Medvedev, Fils, Jodar, Djokovic, who are competing through the final stretch of the indoor hard court season and Paris Masters.

Gael Monfils had a WC for Lyon and Paris Masters, a few days ago he sent an email to ITIA officially announcing his retirement, citing personal problems without further details.
This brings the end to his career and the match vs Tien at the USO was his last official match,

Monfils ends his career with,
13 ATP titles,
35 Finals
Best ranking of World No 6,
2 Slams SFs
3 Masters 1000 Finals

Thank goodness commonsense has prevailed and the Six Kings Slam has been cancelled in October, , though it has been rescheduled for 27 to 30 December? meaning the tennis players in the tournament would have to fly to Riyadh on the 25th Christmas Day? also The United Cup starts on January 1st, 2027 in Australia
Just cancel this 2026 edition :), also how does anyone know the unrest in the Middle East will disappear around December?

It'll get cancelled again. They cannot expect players to choose between an exho and sanctioned group matches in the UC

Gaudenzi, President of the ATP., has spoken about the changes that are intended to be introduced to the circuit ahead of the 2028 season.
The most important ones are,
1. The M1000s will carry more weights in the ranking. The final rounds will distribute more points.
2. They will give a ranking bonus participating in the M1000s.The higher your ranking, the more money you will receive
3. Bonus fund increases from 21.5 to 50 M
4. An economic aid of 25M for the Top 250 at year-end
5. A new M1000 in Arabia for 2028
6. Reduce doubles draw and redistribute that money to singles draw.
7. More economic investment and an expanded pension system

David Ferrer will leave the Davis Cup captaincy at the end of this year. Even last year, he mentioned that he would like to dedicate himself to coaching with some interesting project on the circuit.

Carlos Alcaraz has accepted a wild card to play ATP 500 Vienna ( makes sense seeing the Six Kings Slam has been suspended in October) to prepare for the indoor swing and Paris Masters

Taylor Fritz has added ATP250 Lyon to try and earn points for ATP qualification, Fritz is currently in 13th position with 2,530 points
