Can't win with this mentality, no wonder why football is not coming home. You have to come out and play, like Spain yesterday. They never backed down even when leading 2:0. Now they put Rashford in 93rd minute in play, yeah right.
Some enlightened wag said it was the worst case of German tactics (Tuchel) since they invaded Russia in WW2.

well that was just appalling! You go a goal up, and park the bus. Same thing Tuchel did when he was at Bayern. Same result. Meanwhile the two Argentinian centre halves were on a yellow each. Why not bring Rashford on or someone else with pace. Pass over the block and force the likes of Romero to panic and get sent off. Absolutely zero threat! I don't want to hear anything about Messi being a genius. If you leave your front door open, don't tell me the guy who steals your stuff is a great lock picker. He didn't need to be. That was some unbelievable shite. Tuchel has another chance at Euro 2028. I highly doubt he'll learn the lesson!

I would love a statistician to calculate the odds of all these refereeing mistakes being accidental. I think the odds are vanishingly small. Something dark happened in this World Cup. Cape Verde, Egypt, Switzerland and then England. All with genuine claims that were match changing against Argentina. Unbelievable

That was clearly a game noone wanted but had to play but couldn't take to serious. But it was fun to watch.
exactly! I don't want to hear anything about how brave the English players were, as some of the commentators were saying. The game didn't matter. Play like that when it matters!

I disagree that the game didn't matter. England get the Bronze medal and best result since the 60s.

But on the other note, yes, they should have played braver in the semis. England's attack abilities are really high and they wasted it, I mean Tuchel wasted it in SF.

the game didn't matter mate. Holding the World Cup trophy again is what mattered, and when that was on the line the players were more afraid of being the scapegoat for a loss than winning. No one is going to be talking about "we got 3rd place" in two months not to talk of two decades.:face-with-tears-of-joy:

Do you think Mbappe's goals should count toward the Golden Boot?
yes they should, because they've always counted in the past. I can understand the reservations one might have about his record though

Carlos Alcaraz needs to see his barber ASAP, the time off tour he has let his hair grow :) though he was all smiles when he brought out the trophy ahead of the start of the World Cup
