Problem is, that UEFA has so little bearing in FIFA. So many small countries support Infantino...his days are numbered. The UEFA response, the MP's letter... it's untenable..

after this? I'm not so sure. We shall see. Trump is not popular in many parts of the world nowProblem is, that UEFA has so little bearing in FIFA. So many small countries support Infantino...
Cristiano Ronaldo, he had a 3-game ban suspended, otherwise he would have not played the first 2 games of the World Cup. (He'll probably never serve the suspension because he's retiring.)The World cup is a scam. How the hell did Infantino think that everyone would just accept his suspension of the red card to the US player! And when have a red card ever been suspended and awaiting another foul in a year?
Yup they were a bit deluluSince I was holed up in a Washington DC hotel after a chess tournament I decided to tune into the game last night; I think the 2nd or 3rd game I’ve seen. Seems like the US is still as irrelevant as ever despite the hype around the team this year. It’s cool to see how much the game has grown here, popularity-wise, but fans are turning into the obnoxious “this is our year” every World Cup now.
retiring from the playing in the next World Cup. I'm not sure I've heard anything saying he's retiring from International football. So there's every chance he'll try to play in the next Euros which is in two years.Cristiano Ronaldo, he had a 3-game ban suspended, otherwise he would have not played the first 2 games of the World Cup. Actually not. He did serve one game and the other two are suspended for a year. I never heard of anyone not serving any game at all and get them all suspended.Cristiano Ronaldo, he had a 3-game ban suspended, otherwise he would have not played the first 2 games of the World Cup. I am actually glad the US fans are getting into it more. That's how the team will start to grow an identity. Fans will start to follow the players in their regular league teams, wherever they may play. It may never get to a point like us in Europe , with the existence of other sports in North America, but they are paying more attention, understanding the game a bit more, beyond the " they are all floppers" thing.Since I was holed up in a Washington DC hotel after a chess tournament I decided to tune into the game last night; I think the 2nd or 3rd game I’ve seen. 111 member countries have already said that they will vote for him next year (African, Asia and Southamerican countries). He only needs 106 to get reelected..after this? I'm not so sure. We shall see. Trump is not popular in many parts of the world now
I really don't see the penalty for Egypt but on the other hand I think the goal tha Egypt had revoked was a joke. The faul was made way before the goal and there were several opportunities for the argentinian players to interfere. That was an outright robbery yesterday. Egypt were cheated out of a victory. When in the group stage Messi didn't get a red card I thought it was just a mistake. But the evidence now has become overwhelming. They're doing absolutely anything they can to force Argentina through. The disallowed Egyptian goal was a disgrace, particularly when you realise that an Egyptian was fouled before Argentina's first goal. Not to talk about the valid penalty claims in the dying minutes. It's absolutely disgusting. I hear what @lomaha says about Infantino's position being untouchable. It makes it worse. How is it possible we're being made to miss the vanilla corruption of Sepp Blatter. He only wanted to get personally rich, but at least he respected the football played on the pitch! This... this is corruption for geopolitical reasons
I hear you, but it certainly feels like Argentina have got away with a lot, and Messi in particular. Guy should have been red carded in the group stage. That was clear cut. He pushed for a VAR check in this game, the referee complies. Doesn't listen to Salah in a similar situation though. Officials are definitely corrupt. I"m not saying Argentina is corrupt, I'm saying they are the obvious beneficiariesIt's not any player who demands a rewatch. It's the VAR referees that gives a signal to the referee to have a second look.
I agree there were many fouls' that should have been called but this has happened in several matches. Paraguay against France as the latest example.
I feel for Egypt.
It is theirs to lose. They play the correct way, together , and they have game changers. This French team is terrifyingly good
