Townsend serving to try to get on the board in the 2nd set
1st set was competitive, she had a chance to go up 4-1 in the 1st set.Taylor has been her own worst enemy in the 2nd set.
Gauff leads 5-0
Gauff with 2 MPs
Defending champion wins her 1st match 64 60, a competitive 1st set, Gauff too good in the 2nd set

See if Britbox can get the golden dress with the fringes, frills and beaded, she actually plays in, that is a complete winner NOT lol!
Osaka match just finished she won in straights sets btw against tricky Laura Siegemund 63 76(3)
Osaka feels like her dress is like the Eiffel Tower at night all sparkly :)

The last few seconds of the clip does show the golden dress... but most people can't stomach watching enough to get to it!

Good grief Pegula was cruising and won the 1st set 61 against Aussie Birrell not known for her clay court abilities and Jess has just lost the 2nd set 63
Going 3 I know clay isnt Jess fav surface either still I was confident she would win in straight sets
Jess looks tired to me, trailing Birrell 1-3 in the 3rd set
Birrell leads 4-2
Birrell serving for the match 5-2 and the biggest win of her career thus far defeating a Top Ten player for the 2nd time in her career
Jess gets one of the breaks back as Birrell was tight as a drum trying to serve out the match
Birrell leads 5-3
Birrell breaks again and wins the match 16 63 63

Who's giving you winning vibes for this Margaret? The tournament fell upon us so quickly I never even got chance to promote the Draw Challenge.

Something tells me not to write off Swiatek...she's been pretty underwhelming this season and is maybe flying under the radar a little.

Well I am not going to write off Iga at all, she is too good a player on the clay, she might not have won any of the big WTA1000 clay tournaments leading into RG this year, she had to withdraw from Madrid, due to illness but she made the SFs at Rome, beaten by Svitolina
Sabalenka I am not going to write her off, she hasnt won a title in RG I know she wants this title, even though Gauff hasnt been playing that well, Coco has the ability to win on clay, a great defense player and also with her athletic ability. If Muchova can stay healthy she is my dark horse, she has the most variety of any player on the tour and she has been in the final of RG before defeated by Iga.
