Fined? For what? I don't think there was a lack of effort. Just a mental implosion.
Whatever it was, the performance does not meet the conduct for a professional player. Part of being a professional tennis player is keeping your emotions in check and at least try. Saba didn't do that yesterday, especially in the 3rd set. There were several times when Saba just quit on a return, and didn't even make an attempt to chase down a ball. I've seen players get fined for much lesser antics than what Saba displayed yesterday.

Saba needs to be fined for something, either for her antics (emotional outbursts) or lack of effort. The WTA needs to send a message that behavior like this will not be tolerated, not even from a top ranked player.
Phil, dont make me laugh

Saba has had a long history of not being able to control her emotions the WTA is not going to fine any player with emotional issues
There are been a lot of other players I could name that have had emotional outbursts in the past, worse than Sabalenka
A prime example where I was doing media work was at the AO 2016 Daria Gavrilova ( now Saville) who was playing Carla Suarez Navarro 4th rd, started to mentally unravel, racquet throwing, ball kicking and verbal abuse
Sabalena has nothing on what Daria did in that match against CSN I practically fell off my chair? Daria's outburst of course got the WTA response and fined and Daria to her credit has never had a emotional breakdown like that again. Daria is now pregnant with her first child, her husband is Aussie ATP player Luke Saville.

Italian duo Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori won the Roland Garros Mixed Doubles title on Thursday, rallying from a set down to defeat Canada's Gabriela Dabrowski and American Evan King in a match TB., Errani/Vavassori d Dabrowski/King 46 63 10-4
The Italians became the first pair to win back to back mixed doubles titles in Paris since Ivan Dodig and Latisha Chan did the same in 2018- 2019

In the first Ladies semi final Siniakova/ Townesend crushed their 4th seeded opponents Dabrowski/Stefani 60 61
First team into the Ladies Doubles final, going on this form they will be hard to beat in the final
