If FAA happens to reach the final and if he plays The Mental Midget and wins I will turn Canadian
I just can't get over the level of this match and set:
In particular, Joao's winners to break Novak at 5-5. Just some incredible shots.
really? Your opinion goes down? Why?First time I saw Jodar I was extremely impressed. Now, every time I see him, my opinion goes down a notch. I can not see the match today, I am expecting him to go down in three.

ah ok I understand. I'll give him a pass for that. He's literally playing his first year on the tour. I think things like that are inevitable. Could be as simple as micro-adjustments with his footwork.Basically what I put here:

Roland Garros, Men's French Open 2026 - Grand Slam
Please are we still speaking about that Slime Ball Rios who was the most Hated Man In Tennis, he makes my blood boil I need to go for a run to shake off the bad memories I have of Rios! He still has the best return ever though...;)www.tennisfrontier.com
But I admit I developed a bit of dislike for the poor kid for almost insignificant reasons, and this might be biasing a bit my reasoning.
And, of course I still thinkk he is a great player, it is just that impression that he would be fighting for #1 in a year that went away. Obvisouly I still think he is a guaranteed #10 to say the very least.
What do you mean by this? Is he going to have a frontloaded career, with a lot early success, then a sudden fall off at around age 24/25?on a side note... and I completely off base feeling Jodar is giving me Wilander vibes? Can't put my finger on why. Could just be his demeanour on court
It’s called tough love.As for who I'd like to win, I'm sort of torn. On one hand, I'd be happy with anyone of the eight winning it, because it is a new Slam winner. On the other, I've been open about being on Team Fonseca, who is probably my current favorite player.
That said, I really like FAA, and Fonzie will have tons more chances. FAA will too, but he's just not as good and if guys like Fonzie, Jodar, an Mensik are taking it up a notch, it is going to be harder to win Slams going forward.
I also pitty Zverev and kind of want him to win it. I know, he's a mega-douche, but still. I also think that losing to an even younger generation might break him. He could get past the Big Three, then Sincaraz emerged, and now Menjoseca?! (Fonsikdar?)
lol! No prognostications about his career. Just something about the way he plays or perhaps his personality on courtWhat do you mean by this? Is he going to have a frontloaded career, with a lot early success, then a sudden fall off at around age 24/25?
Why? Does he talk crap?on a side note... and I completely off base feeling Jodar is giving me Wilander vibes? Can't put my finger on why. Could just be his demeanour on court
Oh, all those things are true, for sure. Also, something on his attitude rub me the wrong away. This is probably the heaviest bias at play here.ah ok I understand. I'll give him a pass for that. Is it possible that the impending rivalry between him and Joao are affecting your view of him? I wouldn't blame you![]()
that's fair. I don't know how recently he got to this height. He's 19. Might have been in the last year. If that's the case then the brain and the mechanics might not be fully synced yet. If that's the case then his rise is even more impressiveOh, all those things are true, for sure. Also, something on his attitude rub me the wrong away. You have a point about micro-adjustments and time on tour, but here is the thing. I have seen other aggressive players arriving, his case seemed worst, but... it could be his wingspan, which is huge, so when he misses, he misses by a lot. And I am talking about shots were he was completely balanced, with time, perfect set up. Some rally shots as well. But, again, I will need to watch a few more matches to consolidate or dismiss my opinion (matches, not highlights).
And, the way he was being outplayed by PCB caught my attention. And he never figured it out, it was PCB who dissapeared of that match.
I have no idea why I kept picturing Wilander as I watched him play. Trying to figure it out. Was hoping someone might intuit why. Heck I might just be delusional! Why? Does he talk crap?
