Well at least it wasnt a bagel like at the AO :)
it was some great ball striking points. those Filipinos crowd was extremely rowdy and a bit unfair.. Parks was an Ufes queen tonight. the player with less ufes deserved the W.. Parks has so much talent .. One day she will realize its no fun losing ..

Yep as I explained before the match Parks had to keep her UFE low,, and yes she is talented, maybe she is not fully aware of that fact as yet

She is aware but just like Keys and Saba.. they dance only with the one that took them to the dance.. Power and big babe tennis.. Parks added a lot variety in her game in the 2nd and 3rd set.. Alycia needs to change her mentality to quit trying to blast everyone off the court at the beginning of all her matches.. She needs to watch some ole Roger Federer matches.. Roger would face serving bomb monsters like Roddick and others but always stayed calm and just block the ball in play. Hailey Baptiste learned this year that consistently wins always over brute force. Yes, AP knows better but will not buy in totally.. If you get your butt whipped enough, a player finally wants better results and then they will change.. Look at Jasmine P.. she learned

Parks needs to employ more 'controlled aggression' as you said ' blasting her opponents' off the court, which in turn leads to, too many ufe errors,

It's all about margin w/ Parks. She needs some disciplined rally training during practice where she she can't hit a winner until she puts x amounts of balls into play. The coach can teach her to aim a foot inside each line and watch her game tighten up. She will become so consistent and less an UE machine. The second part is being able to read the room. Parks had to know Alex was tired in set 2 from the DC tourney. She needed to keep the ball in play and keep her out there, not give up meaningless errors and make it easier for her to get off court.

Keli.. That's is what so frustrating about the match..Parks knew Alex was tired just like their match in AO. She had a B plan working with variety especially drop shots but refused any sort of patience during Eala's service game. That was the match.. Alycia gave away way too many points on a weak server. Alex's 1st serve percentage dropped below the 50s but she kept trying to blast winners when she could have put some spin underneath the ball and force added pressure on Alex to pass her at the net which Alex did. If I was her coach, I would make her watch the entire match and during the film session I would stop her and ask wtf was you thinking and WHY.

The most impressive player to me yesterday was Andreeva she dusted up Pliskova letting her win 2 games, Andreeva was 'on' in all departments of her game.

Actually Roig seems to be getting through to Swiatek, she actually showed patience and point construction in her last 2 matches.

I was looking at Mirra's game when On she has a complete game, remember at 19 yo she has a GS title and 2 WTA1000 to her name, regardless of how old KP is :)
I was not talking about KP's age but she has been historically a very poor mover on the court.. Again my grandma's footspeed is better than KP's two left feet IMO
