Babs has a habit of turning up at Wimbledon and doing this she is one tricky player especially on grass, and is a nightmare for any opponent

Mirra should've adjusted by now. The girl did the same exact play 3-4 points in a row
Its like Mirra went back to old pre RG Mirra... She got full of herself.. That locker room has got to be destroyed.. There goes part of my final 4 prediction.. Darn Darn Darn

Quite frankly I didnt really have Mirra in my top 3 to win Wimbledon this year, she does have a good game on grass, still after winning her 1st GS title might be too much to expect of her to win Wimbledon this year, also it is a tough transition from clay to grass and she lost her grass match before Wimbledon

BTW if Rybakina dosent clean up her game I cant see her doing well this year, UFE rate fhand is still missing she plays McNally tomorrow and it will be a test for her, I mean she lost a set to Boission the other day, the girl had only played 1 tour level match on grass for goodness sakes

Babs is set to play Nikola Bartunkova in her 3rd rd match, Nicola defeated Siniakova in SS earlier, let see if she continues

Anyway my dark horse continues on her merry way and is into the 3rd round.

Channel Slam takes immense focus and clarity of your game's strengths. That's why it hasn't been done much.

Back in the day it was easier for women when seeds rarely were upset! Borg's accompl. of taking 3 Chan'l-Slams in a row is all the more impressive when there was no grass court warm-up; w/ just a week or 2 between RG & SW 19! The Big 3 made it look as something standard to have on their resume! Homogenizing the courts assisted them as Rafa acquired 2 w/ only 2 Wimbledon wins! Fed got his thru a lack of comp. w/ Nadal upset & Djokovic still finding his footing on the tour! Novak got 1 as well late in his career! Sincaraz will prob. acquire a few more between them! :astonished-face:

I am fully fully aware of Borgs results in the channel slam and I was lucky enough to watch him Live
Borg never played a warm up tournament after the clay, he rented a house at Wimbledon with a grass court and would practice for hours, he was a Goat for the channel slam achieving in 3 in a row!

I just don't understand! Most people are trying to push a 39 yr. old Novak off the tour w/ live Top 10 pts., but at the very same time the world's craving a 44 yr. old mother of 2 who hasn't played in 4 yrs. to come back! Even though the man has slowed down, he's accomplishing something along the way every time he goes out on the court! Serena's only stroking her ego! I'll say the same about any player wasting a spot in a draw; Murray, Wawrinka, Monfils, or whoever is "past it!" :astonished-face::yawningface::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:
When Djoke births 2 babies, holla at me in this thread and we'll pick up where we left off. Until then, :shushing-face:

I watched the second half of the Serena match. She was a bit rusty, but looked surprisingly good. Even though she's struggling, Joint is essentially a top 30 talent, and Serena was right there with her. With a bit more match time, I think she could at least be competitive against top 10 players.

That said, I question whether, at 44, she could win the 7 matches in a row required to win a Slam. I'd like to see her play Washington or Memphis, then probably Cincinnati, before the USO. Throw off the rust and build up her game. On one hand, it is hard imagining her beating a Sabalenka or Swiatek, or even Gauff/Rybakina/Andreeva; on the other, none of the top players are unbeatable, and all have some degree of question mark. So now's a good time to do what she's doing.
She was extremely competitive against a top 30 (was earlier this year before injury) who played out of her skin and you're right Serena was right there w/ her. As to winning 7 matches, I don't see it. She couldn't do it after baby #1 and she had 4 bites at the apple. Got to 4 slam finals and in each one went down in straight sets. I don't see those odds increasing 7 years later.

I think what really let Serena down in that match was the inconsistent return of serve. She really had inconsistent positioning which caused her to botch it at times.
