Agree, lets see how Zed performs on the HC, he has to be aggressive, like on grass
This aint OVER.. I dont think the HC is just gonna go the way it went the past few years.. we shall see.. I am glad that the Novak thing has pretty much been solved.. I still cant believe FAA stayed in those ridiculous cc bh exchanges with Novak. again Congrats to Sinner and his voodoo doll welding fanatic MM

Well, Jannik and his fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Zverev should feel proud - he's signaled that he's not just a pushover in Slam finals, and the well-deserved third best player on tour.

Jannik heads into the USO as the clear favorite.

I wasnt worried at all, I knew when Jannik found his return game, and could make inroads on Zeds serve like he did in the 2nd set and onwards and found his ground game better which he did he would win, off the ground Sinner is better than Zed and also defends better
To me defending your title is harder than winning it and his serve again was on 'song' when he needed it, Zed had to play aggressive or it would be all over Red Rover in 3 sets, which to me is out of his comfort zone
Jannik goes into his favorite time of the year hard courts

I'm betting he overplays again & is then upset! Sinner can be the favorite all he likes! We've seen over 2/3 Majors this season, that he can lose! :angry-face:

Darren Cahill will be with Jannik till the end of 2026 season, last season 2025, was suppose to be his last and changed his mind
Darren Cahill said he will get through to the end of the year and sit down as a team and talk what is best for Jannik
I felt for Janniks mum she left the CC a couple of times in Janniks match, hate to be a parent watching live their children at such an important match, anyway it turned out fine for Janniks mum in the end

BTW
Jannik is the first man to go 5 sets in the first round of a slam final and go onto win the title since Nadal at RG in 2011 ( btw I was there live at RG when Nadal was taken 5 sets by John Isner, and I also survived ...................:)

One thing to consider going forward: Jannik needs one more Masters title to tie Novak for the most in a year (six), and two more to pass him. He's still won every Masters so far this year....crazy. I highly doubt he'll go after all nine, as I suspect he'll skip Canada and/or Paris. But you never know.

It is sort of like a no-hitter in baseball. After five innings, you take note and go "Hmm." After six, it becomes a serious possibility because you're two-thirds of the way there. So let's see about Canada.

Edit: Also, big titles in a season:

10: Djokovic (2015)
9: McEnroe (1984)
8: Federer (2006), Djokovic (2011)
7: Lendl (1986), Federer (2004), Nadal (2013)
6: Laver x2, Sampras x2, Federer x2, Nadal x2, Djokovic x3, Sinner x2, Murray

Meaning, Jannik needs to win one of the six remaining big tournaments to join Novak, Mac, Fed, Lendl and Nadal as the only players to win 7 or more in a year.

LOL! our friend David and his Novax comments gives me fits all the time
I am Italian of course I will put Jannik first, my other fav of course is Carlos gosh he is the complete player and I was live at the AO this year when he won his career slam, the other players can get lost, kind of, except my fav youngster Fonseca
Zed I cant stand period and Shelton has to be The Most Annoying Player in the ATP MEH!

I know you would like Jannik to go for the 9 Masters, he has confirmed he will play Monteral, you said it was the Tennis Nerd in you :)
Quite frankly I dont want him to try for it, to I would like him to miss Cincy, to ,me he should have skipped Madrid this year, he needed a break, I hope he and his team dont push for it, let him concentrate on the USO title
