Its kind hard to call it a blemish because she is facing the two time US Open defending champion and the world's number One for almost two straight years. Make no quarrels about Sabalenka had earned the title for being on top. She rarely looses early in a tournament and almost NEVER loose in straight sets.

Sabalenka is a great player, period. But her childish and rude behavior diminishes her reputation. After earning her #1 ranking and US Open victory today, an introverted and humble champion like Rybakina deserved grace and respect for her achievement. On the podium and in her speech Sabalenka, as always, makes everything about her, overshadowing Rybakina's lofty moment with her own self-absorbed tantrum.

I feel the same way. She acts as though she should win every grand slam because she's no. 1.
That is part of the reason why she loses tight games. And loses focus in games she's winning and ends up losing.

Sports is a tough profession, and we have to find something deep within beyond skills to be mentally strong and sharp in tough matches. Perhaps we are uncomfortable with her mentality, motivation and drive. She is who she is, and she has had to put in the work too. We don’t have to like all of them personally.
I’m glad Rybakina won.

Elena is so smart the way she played the tennis , very complete.

I agree. A VERY POPULAR win and champion for the U.S. Open, if ever there was one.
Hasn't won the RG but with her game becoming more complete and her on-court demeanor she would be a huge favorite next year...and beyond.
