That's a good guess, and it would be the correct answer if it was Open Era. His 4 are the most in the Open Era, followed by Gael Monfils with 3. But John Newcombe is the correct answer - he won 5 across two years in the 60s.

Also, glad to hear about Cruz Hewitt...I'm glad he seems legit. You never know with nepo babies in sports. It is too bad that none of the Graf-Agassi children became tennis players, as that's pretty impressive bloodlines.
Thanks I still Suck lol

Murat and AP if you are still around,

I think I have found a great coach for FAA
Ivan Ljubicic? his experience mentoring offensive players like Federer and Roanic perfectly aligns with FAA need to develop a sharper tactical mindset and killer instinct, just my thoughts
Luby at present serves as the High Level Tennis Development for the FFT
While over seeing his tennis facility Ljubicic Tennis Academy in Croatia
I still think JCF is the one who knows where all of Carlos bodies are buried and the skeletons in Sinner's closet

I saw Cruz Hewitt play in a Challenger tournament. I wasn't impressed, but I didn't know exactly his age then, maybe I judged him too harshly because of that. Disclaimer, I disliked him instantly, exactly as I disliked his father. Rooting for whoever is across the net.

Oh, wait. Maybe I would root for him against a Graffassi creature.

Those records will almost surely stand forever. Most juniors nowadays complete their pro transition after they win one major. Fonseca's US OPEN junior title was his last junior tournament, and that has been the norm for a while I would guess. Luis Miguel (who recently won RG junior) seems to be an outlier, as he previously declared this year his focus would be on junior tournaments no matter the results. Still in the best case scenario he will end with 2 singles and 2 doubles titles, assuming he wins both as the US OPEN.

Today is the first time I've heard of him. At some point an American is going to break through into the elite. I think we're already in better shape now with Fritz, Shelton, and Paul than we were in the Fish/Isner/Querrey days. I don't think Tien/Michelsen/Quinn are going to be elite players; Tien will dip into the top 10, but I see him more as a Ferrer/Ruud type at best.

I just learned a fun fact today. Andy and Jamie Murray just started a new Youtube channel and Andy mentioned that when Jamie Murray was 12, he was the #3 player in the world, behind Nadal and Gasquet. He started a new club and they tried to change his forehand and basically it destroyed him - according to Andy, he got the yips on his forehand at 12 and it ruined him as a singles player. He never got it back.

This was mentioned in this video where they're testing a hundred years of tennis rackets. Andy's giving him a hard time about not being able to hit 100 mph. Eventually he's able to get there on serving, but just barely.

Kind of puts things in perspective. They also have a chart of serves, and Andy's goes from 106 with the 1950s racket to 124 with 2020s.

I doubt it. It will take something abnormal like someone who has weapons like a Pete Sampras to put on the defensive the current superior baseliners Sinner, Alcaraz and Zverev.. Can we get behind a south American or Northern (Canadian) American kid.. these US kids are all the same.. to me

Regarding the Boys Singles Final, Wimbledon
Just read some interesting news from Craig Shapiro and his friend who were sitting near Cruz Hewitt's box, he said 'box pressure', way too many voices, way too much chirping, was a factor that Cruz level dipped, in saying that taking nothing away from the 16 yo Jordans win, this youngster is one to watch, talented.
I have also read that his father Lleyton Hewitt, ( which I have Never been a fan of, is going to be Cruz full time coach, apart from his duties as coach of the Aussie DC team and will either have a European or Amercian base in the future. Lleyton actually owns a house in Sydney near me, and he has put it up for sale )
BTW I have just watched highlights of the Boys Singles Final
