Good on Casper for his first 1000 title. I’m glad he had something positive come his way after disclosing his issues with his mental health.

I always thought Casper’s issues on tour probably stemmed from his scheduling. He stretches himself everywhere, so he was bound to hit a wall.

I am glad to see him pull himself up and get a much needed win before the French Open. I don’t know that I see him winning in Rome as his results are usually all over the place, but he did reinsert himself in the conversation. It was a good time too as Alcaraz and Djokovic are hit and miss. Sinner and his form are a question mark. Tsitsipas and Zverev are also all over the place.

If I was Casper, since he liked to compare his health to a stock market, I would invest now in adding to the team someone to help him with his backhand and fight mode.

Novak Djokovic to play in ATP250 Geneva before Roland Garris, he did last year before reaching the SFs in Paris

Novak Djokovic and his coach Andy Murray have parted ways. Novak has just come on social media with this post,

" Thank you, coach Andy, for all the hard work, fun and support over the last six months on and off the court. I really enjoyed deepening our friendship together"
Although the partnership had started relatively well in Australia with Djokovic's win over Carlos Alcaraz, Djokovic's recent struggles mean that this is not a surprising development

Joao Fonseca will play for Team World in the upcoming Laver Cup in September
What a wonderful experience for Fonseca!
Also making his debut at the Laver Cup playing for Team Europe is Holger Rune

Yep. He is lucky to always have the opportunity to mix up with the best. This will pay dividends, I hope.

My snarky self read that Fonseca would play for team third world!!!!

I am a bit surprised that Nick Kyrgios is playing at Roland Garros this year, a surface he 'hates' he is teaming up with Jordan Thompson to play doubles,
Nick K will be playing pre grass tournament before Wimbledon this year, his favorite surface.

Novak Djokovic looks like he will replace, for now, at least, Andy Murray with Viktor Troicki, according to a video posted on his social media page today. The Serbian Davis Cup Captain was also in his box during the Olympics at Roland Garros.

The Excuse Merchant aka Zverev has taken a wild card into ATP500 Hamburg

Don Fabio,
Just looking at Novaks draw in Geneva
He is projected to meet Machac in the SFs again like last year, lol!
I didn't realize the draw was out already. But I was wondering if Novak will regret picking Geneva, which seems to have lots of competitive players in, whereas everyone has withdrawn from Hamburg, except that Zverev took the WC. Hamburg looks to be easier pickings. Actually might be rather pathetic if Zverev doesn't win it.

Hamburg started out strong now with the amount of players withdrawing, probably some with niggling injures didnt want to risk playing a week out from RG, I dont like any player, playing a week before a major, only if need be, for example Novak, needs the clay match play.Quite frankly I am surprised that Zverev took a wild card into Hamburg, okay he lost in the QF, as the defending champion in Rome, still I feel he has had enough match play on clay going into RG. I knew Sinner would withdraw in Hamburg, after his win in the QF
Novaks draw has Marozsan/ Arnaldi in the QFs, Fussovics in R2, Fritz/KAA in the final all projected of course
I mean if Novak is good enough he should be able to win a ATP250 title on clay, should he not?
Regardless of the outcome in Geneva, Novak still isnt a contender for RG this year, even if he wins the title in my opinion.
BTW the draw was made earlier today in Geneva Friday the 16th of May
Withdrawals in Geneva,
Ruud, Dimitrov, Shapo, Thompson, RBA, Carabelli.

You noticed! I looked at the seeds a few days ago & instantly thought, "these are killers! This w/b some draw for a 250 level event!" :face-with-tears-of-joy::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Judging from his comments and personality, that is probably exactly how he likes it. Easy prey. Btw did you read Musetti's reaction on Zverev's post match comments? Musetti kept his cool and just said I beat him before too. (Like wtf is this guy even whining about).

BTW,
If Zverev does win the Hamburg ATP500 tournament his ranking of No 3 remains, because Alcaraz has opened up a significant points leads after reaching the final in Rome
