The new blood champion is trying to show his stuff in Rotterdam! #1 Seed Sinner is taking on Van de Zandschulp in his opening match as Aussie Open Chp! Looks & sounds so strange since the Big 3 owned the Tourney "down under" for almost 20 yrs! Wawrinka of course stole '14 event!![]()
Not exactly recent news but watched this yesterday and, wow, look at the speed difference at the US Open in 2005. If people need any more proof of how slow things have become, watch this. There's no way anyone was returning these serves.
Focus again seems to be one of Rune's problems, agree with your thoughts, I also watched his match against Safiullin yesterday, again he needed 3 sets to win, lost his focus and tennis in the 2nd set, losing 6-2,. Rune will not get his ranking up unless he can sustain a good level of tennis in a match, he has the weapons.Shevchenko just took out Rune. I'm not surprised, watched Rune yesterday too and he plays hot and cold, can't sustain a good level of tennis in the match and the other guy was fired up to take him down. He continues to disappoint so far this season.
Last night FAA lost to Rublev. He served lights out and still lost. Certainly has some confidence issues. Made 2 DFs in crucial moments in 2nd set TB. I honestly tought he was a better player last night. Woke up this morning only to find out he did not capitalize on a few matchpoints and then got broken right after.
so you're saying he's not a danger anymore...Apparently Francisco Cerundolo ( aka the dangerous one) has forgotten how to play tennis, losing to WC Facundo Acosta WC 76(3) 60 at the Argentina Open!
This coaching carousel cannot help to stay focused either. He needs to get settled w/ one coach and let that relationship simmer for a season. As I stated before, Lendl is still available and probably would be good to get him back on track. If he can deal w/ hothead Muzz, he can coach anyone.Focus again seems to be one of Rune's problems, agree with your thoughts, I also watched his match against Safiullin yesterday, again he needed 3 sets to win, lost his focus and tennis in the 2nd set, losing 6-2,. I saw the 3rd set for FAA and the one w/ Wawa. FAA had 0-40 and at least 2 returns he got in play and was in control of the point and wasn't aggressive. Too passive against Hair Dude will result in a plethora of balls flying by you. Definitely a confidence issue w/ FAA (knowing when to pull the trigger).Shevchenko just took out Rune. Quick fact: Ivan Lendl briefly coached Sascha Zverev and that didn’t last long. So, I don’t know if Lendl will be able to handle Rune. This coaching carousel cannot help to stay focused either. I did post that news earlier todayWith Medvedev’s withdrawal from Doha, Sinner is guaranteed to be ranked no. 3 in the world on February 26th IF Sinner reaches Rotterdam final this week. If Sinner wins Rotterdam, he will be no.3 in the world this upcoming Monday
Rune has appointed a former Danish player in Kenneth Carlson, as his coach, who apparently was with Holger, for ' periods of last year"This coaching carousel cannot help to stay focused either. I think it will come down to how bad he wants it? If Zed had kept Lendl he might have a slam by now. Look what he did for Muzz. Muzz was getting to the finals and losing. Zed and Rune have all the physical weapons, but definitely need someone to help them put it all together.Quick fact: Ivan Lendl briefly coached Sascha Zverev and that didn’t last long.
