If Muchova dosent play WTA500 Tokyo,
Swiatek needs W+QF+ or F+F Ningbo/Tokyo
Kostyuk needs 2 titles

Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils are ending their marriage,
Elina posted the news on her Instragram page, I have condensed the news she posted.
Svitolina speaks about the psychological difficulties of mentally processing the war in her country and the problems stemming from it,

"Last year, needed to step away from the court I wasnt in the right emotional space. With time, I came to understand that I need to find my way back to myself and that I cannot do that within our marriage. I want to open up a little more, what you didnt see were the sleepless night, the doubts and the feeling of slowly losing myself.
Skai, our daughter will always come first. Our marriage is ending, but our family is not. Please know there is noone to blame here. There are only two people who loved each other deeply a story that is changing shape
We ask for your kindness and for the space we need to heal..

Muchova is next in line to qualify, with 4735 points, tbough she isnt playing Ningbo, I feel she has to take a WC into Tokyo

Swiatek is chasing with 4189 points, playing Ningbo and Tokyo, though she had a thigh problem in her SF match in Wuhan,

Such a sad situation especially when there is a young child involved, when I read the news I was lost for words quite frankly, they appeared to be such an ideal couple together and in love, then again we are not privy to what goes on off the court and when they are at home, I am not taking sides, as I feel for both Elena and Gael., reading the hate towards Elena on social media after the announcement is appalling to me.
Just read, according to L'Equipe, Monfils learned about the divorce abruptly it made him quit tennis on the spot. Hence his abrupt decision to remove himself from the anti doping lists on October 5th

News just in Iga Swaitek has withdrawn from WTA500 Ningbo, left thigh injury she sustained in the SFs in Wuhan which means she cannot qualify for the year end WTA Finals in IW, she could be an alternate
Karolina Muchova is still the front runner to take the final spot as Kostyuk would have to win both Ningbo and Tokyo to claim the last spot

Updated News regarding the last spots in the Race to IW,

Iga Swiatek has closed down her season due to a left thigh injury she sustained at the SF in Wuhan, she withdrew from WTA500 Ningbo
Meaning that Kostyuk will be the first alternate, unless she can win both Ningbo and Tokyo, over taking Karolina Muchova who presently is in the running to take the last spot. Jovic is in 2nd alternate position

The WTA announced on Monday 19th October that 3 doubles teams have qualified for the WTA Finals IW, leaving 3 qualification places remaining to compete,
Mladenovic/Hanyu, Bucsa/Melichar-Martinez, Mertens/Zhang Shui, these teams will join Siniakova/Townsend along with Dabrowski/Stefani, both teams secured their participation earlier this season.
