I'm going with Djokovic in 4. Sinner hasn't been battle tested. Playing Djokovic is a whole different animal than playing Kecmanovic (who he struggled with), Borges, Brooksby, Mochizuki, and Struff. Djokovic has been battle tested through the years. The players who he has faced (and beaten) since 2011 is a who's who list. Don't forget, the last time both were healthy, Djokovic beat Sinner in straights at Wimbledon. Healthy Djokovic will always beat healthy Sinner at Wimbledon.

Don't make me laugh. The last time Djoke beat Red on grass, he wasn't the Sinner who won multiple slams or was #1. They are both different players now. Who Djoke beat over the years isn't going to help him tomorrow. If anything I think he would draw from the match in AO where he was able to win against Red

Sinner in 4 sets and Novak takes a long walks into the Thames (Novak is trying to become Ra al Ghul sinking into the Lazarus Pits)which restore life to the dying.

Logical choice may be to pick Sinner in 4 I think...but I am still not buying the "Sinner just hit a wall" in the French Open argument. No top player loses like that. They find a way to get one more game. Something happened there. Until I am satisfied with an answer, I give every other top player a chance against Sinner, especially a seasoned vet like Nole. He will be tired and hurting but what if Sinner hits another "wall" ?

Yeah, I'd buy the argument if this was the only time he blew a lead like that, but Sinner had a 2-set lead in the French Open final last year and even served for it. There have been several instances of Sinner getting broken while serving for the match, including at this year's Wimbledon. It clearly isn't a one-off, but part of a larger trend. Sinner has lost ten 5-set matches since 2022 Wimbledon, which by far leads all players. Did Sinner just hit a wall each time, or is he just not clutch?

If Rafa had a 2-set lead or was serving for the match, I'd bet my life he'd get it done. For the most part, I'd trust Federer or Djokovic. But no way am I doing that with Sinner, especially after these last 2 French Opens. The biggest mistake I made was assuming that Sinner was going to hold the 2-set lead in the 2025 French Open final, and find a way to win one more set (after winning 20 in a row). If Dmitrov doesn't get hurt, Sinner likely loses that match, and his last slam title would be 18 months ago.

I saw a graphic somewhere that Novak has never lost a 5+ hour match and Jannik has never won a 4+ hour match. That would imply that it is imperative that Jannik win this in three, maybe four (quick) sets.

I think that was before the French Open. That stat had to have been broken after Novak's loss to Joao Fonseca.

Loving the Narrative Sinner Hits A Wall :)
Hmm there is always a first time :)
If my memory is correct
These 2 met last year at Wimbledon last year in the SF and a certain poster he knows who he is stated firmly
Novak will give Sinner a tennis lesson on grass
We all know how that turned out Sinner won in 3 sets :)
I was live at the AO this year when Novak won in their SF, Sinner was dreadful had a 2/18 BP conversion rate and his serve went AWOL', also playing on grass to a medium pace HC is hard to compare
Coming into Wimbledon so far Jannik has hit 96 Aces and has been clutch in tough moments, started off shaky, and had to win in 5 sets, then has gotten better, at times he has been playing 'within himself"
He will no doubt "Step Up' for the SF.

Hey AP, a load of us used to post on the old tennis.com message board. I'm pretty sure you were on that. Keli definitely was, and Susan and tented. There was an interim board called Tennis Digital (created by Tino, the tennis.com tech guy) that lasted a few months between tennis.com board closure and Tennis Frontier starting.

Baron

Are you aware that Tennis.Com has closed down and has become a SB site, without any warning at all
I went there last week to check on something that I wanted to clear up with Steve Tignor and it was Gonsky
I also used to post when Pete Bodo was in charge gee that is many moons ago, on the general posting site then it got out of hand and quite frankly became Toxic, and it was closed down

I also left, posters just wanted to take cheap shots at one another, not interested in tennis sad to say.
Yes, I saw that posted - it's closure marks the end of an era. I believe Chris Evert was part of the ownership team back in the day. Yeah, that board got really wild. It was funny though - I nearly cried with laughter a few times with the absurdity of it all. The mix of posters was something I haven't seen since - tennis experts, casual fans, comedians and psychopaths all in the same space.
