You know it could be that without Carlos, Sinner is feeling a different kind of heat. Carlos is the greater player and we’re not surprised if he wins anywhere in the world. He’s won a career slam at barely a couple of months younger than Jannik was when he won his first slam. He’s special - and Jannik was positioned well as a guy chasing him, the underdog. But now the underdog is expected to win everything in Carlos absence, and maybe without the shadow of Carlos to protect him from certain scrutinies, he’s facing much greater heat?

well we have to make up our mind about who Sinner is. If he really is that guy with the potential to be on the same level as the Big 3, does anyone doubt if an opportunity arose and the rest of the triumvirate went missing the other one wouldn't close the thing down? That's what I require from Sinner if he is a GUY

Jannik is not putting enough pressure on the return of serve.. Jannik is just pushing the ball back in play.. I still feel he will figure this out.. Cahill needs to get off his butt and send some good vibrations.

That's nothing new! You forget all those BP's he had vs Novak "down under" in their SF match at the AO? I think he blew 16 in the 4th set alone IIRC!

It was a mutal decision from Jannik and his team, he needed rest after playing a long season on the HC and then all the clay season

I don’t agree w/ that approach. I see a lot of rust and timidity on the grass. Luckily for him, Kec is headcase and can’t keep up this level

BBC reporting that Jannik has lost something like 9 out of his last ten five setters..

I pointed that out several times on here that Sinner has lost 10 of his last 11 five-setters, dating back to 2022 Wimbledon. It's a trend, not a one off. In fact, the comeback at the 2024 AO looks like the outlier/one off.

The young man needed rest and wanted to retrain/condition his body. I guess he valued that over going thru the stress of traveling playing a tennis match. Too many nerves playing extra tournaments is my thoughts.

Safin is excellent off the court. Can you imagine having a wing man like Marat.. His leftover ladies has got to be 8s and 9s..

Jannik did play non stop and he should have skipped Madrid, Hindsight is a wonderful thing

Well I can see both sides of that story, he was on a roll at that time and he became the youngest at 24 to complete the Golden Masters
Though at what cost? he was the fav to win RG and it cost him quite frankly

I think being No 1 is very important to him. Seems to have a different mentality about all that to Carlito. He seems like he would sacrifice the ranking for a slam without hesitation

ikr, can you imagine 2011-13 Djokovic struggling against players like Dmitrov and Kecmanovic? After Sinner loses today, if Djokovic is healthy, I don't see him letting this opportunity slip.

Sinner is young and strong as a Ox.. He just caught in the heat in Paris .. playing those MS titles I dont think hurt his body..
