Ssshhh be quiet Margaret may see this and stop loving you too
I really have to have a serious talk with Baron regarding Zverev, he maybe is on some type of medication that I am unaware of :)
I didnt watch his game against Jodar, I only watch him if he is playing one of my fav players, I knew that Zverev would win, he has had a soft draw to the SFs, still there is hope that a player will upset him.

Of course when I type that my fav youngster has broken Mensik
Dont say he is doing his usual trick of coming back again from 2 sets again
Oh well that break of serve was short lived, back on serve in the 3rd set, Mensik was grabbing his lower back when he got broken served poor, I hope it is nothing serious
Guga looking concerned at present watching this match, he still has 'great hair'...................

Mensik hits great smashes, maybe he can teach Novak a thing or two with how to play overheads well :)
Fonseca got another break and consolidated and he will serve for the 3rd set 5-4
Fonseca has a lot of tapes on his fingers, reminds me of Borg and also Rafa.
Fonseca needs to save this BP and yes he snuffs it out with an Ace
Great shot down the line from Mensik how does anyone deal with that so pure, ufe error from Mensik
Fonseca with a drop shot wrong shot Fonseca,
Sic passing shot from Fonseca, on a big point, the kid plays Fearless, one reason I love him :)
Mensik is making it hard for Fonseca to close out this 3rd set, again great over head
Fonseca fhand found the net Meh!
Fonseca broken, back on serve 5 all

Fonseca robbed that point from Mensik and he has a BP, snuffed out by Mensik his serve out wide has proved to be a great winner in this match
Fonseca will now serve to force a TB for the 3rd set at 5-6

looks like beating Novak and Ruud has done him in. I can only imagine what the media attention has been like for him. This will be a good lesson for him for the future. He'll have to get his people to manage all of that better in the future

Fonseca that was a loose shot, to me it was a tired shot
Mensik appears to have ice in his veins has great composure on court
Mensik with his 4th MP, snuffed out by Fonseca with a great volley
Fonseca pushing his shots now
Mensik with his 5th MP, got to credit Fonseca he has saved all MP so far, he just plays fearless when he is under pressure
Fonseca fhand netted deuce
Mensik with great feel for such a big guy it is incredible
Mensik with his 5th MP.............snuffed out by a wonderful fhand from Fonseca
6MPs have come and gone
Fonseca with a half volley pick up SIC SIC
6 games all TB for the 3rd set

Really enjoyed this match. Mensik has a new fan in me. The guy has power and touch. Serve is great, speed is great...Future is bright. Fonseca stepped it up too and the last hour was awesome, both players playing great at the same time.
These guys are 19 and 20. Tennis is in good hands.

Agree, he has really improved his over all game, for such a tall man, his touch and power with controlled aggression great to watch and his speed around the court is great to watch. The future of tennis with these 2 players is looking great Murat

At 20 yo Mensik passes Ivan Lendl as the youngest Czech man in the Open Era to reach a GS SF well done young man!

If Mensik can play up to this level against Zverev he has a good chance of defeating him in the SF ( fingers crossed) maybe I will have to turn Czech for the match :)

Too bad for Fonzie, but I like Mensik too. We will underrate him at our own peril - this is a kid who won a Masters at age 19, which has only been done by a handful of people, most of them ending up as ATGs. I didn't watch the match, but I'm guessing it was a combination of the very predictable Fonzie crash and Mensik holding steady at a high level. He won't be a push-over for Sascha.

Anyhow, reaching a QF is a big breakthrough for Fonzie. I could see him matching or surpassing it at Wimbledon and the US Open.

Fonseca's run has ended at QF
Lets not forget he became the 1st teenager to ever beat Djokovic in a GS
Became the 2nd player in history to come back from 2 sets to 0 down to beat Djokovic
Became the first Brazilian man to reach a RG singles QF since Guga in 2004
Beat 2 time RG finalist Ruud
Up to No 25 in the live rankings
Just 19 yo and doing great things!

Better player on the day won. Fonseca played quite bellow par, even in third set, while Mensik played super well the whole match.

One thing Fonseca desperately needs is to work on his shot selection once he comes forward. He loses a lot of points that he could easily win...

That struck me with the Djokovic match. I loved the drop shots, but if I had been watching them live, I would have winced every time...they need to be tightened up a it, and more varied...it felt like he was just teeing them up for Novak half the time.
