I could not watch the match on the live feed. I started watching about an hour late ( but from the beginning), so I had to avoid all internet to be safe from spoilers.

I spent the whole match afraid of a let down which fortunately never came!!! Uffff

The draw was wide open and he just beat the two remaining top dogs.

You mentioned his tennis IQ... After the match he gave an interview in Portuguese to fellow Brazilian Bruno Soares (won a few GS in doubles), he described the "chess match" they were playing not to let each other with the forehand inside out.

One big problem Zverev has Big Mental Issues when pressured
These youngsters are swinging from the hips and have Belief In Themselves and Their Games
Zverev goes into Defensive Mode when he is pressure, seen it over and over again, instead of staying aggressive he retreats one of the reasons he hasnt won a GS title apart from blaming everyone else and including the kitchen sink he hasnt won a GS title
Our game is 80% mental! Zverev falls by the way side in that area!
