Did you see Jodar the other day, bullying the ball kids?Just quickly looking at the match Carreno Busta v Rafa Jodar
Carreno Busta won the 1st set 64, and broke Jodar in his first service game of the 2nd set, looks like Jodar's movement is a bit off, Busta is making him pay, early days of course, Jodar needs to win this 2nd set.
Busta now leads Jodar 2 sets to love
BTW, Busta 34 yo, hasnt made an ATP QF since 2024 Winston Salem.
Young Jodar found his game in the 3rd set and Busta dipped
Busta leads Jodar 2 sets to 1, as Jodar won the 3rd set 61
I saw that on a replay? he said he didnt bully what is your opinion Don?Did you see Jodar the other day, bullying the ball kids?
It didn't look nice at all. I get that he was pissed with something related to his performance in the match, but that moment where he doesn't just ask ball kid to move slightly so he could pass to toilet or just go around him seems rude on the video. Also he was rude when he asked for a cold towel. Let's see if this comes up again.I saw that on a replay? he said he didnt bully what is your opinion Don?
I have to agree with your thoughts he was rude when asking for a towel etc, also he could of ask the ball kid to move slightlyIt didn't look nice at all. Exactly. It was not Jodar who raised his level, it was PCB who disappeared. He did ask for an MTO in the end of the third. I saw him suddenly lose all energy in the beginning of that set.Don,
I cant see Jodar losing this match now he is up leading 5-1 in the final set, Busta has been the player that has dipped badly
Quite frankly Mrzz I thought it was going to be Busta that would win the match in 3 sets, his level did dipExactly. It was not Jodar who raised his level, it was PCB who disappeared. He did ask for an MTO in the end of the third. I saw him suddenly lose all energy in the beginning of that set.
Judging by just this match Jodar looked far from a great prospect. But it is just one match.
True, but it is more than that. Today, and also in a previous match (that I only saw parts of), what caught my attention was the more than occasional ugly miss, when trying to go for a winner. It is not a bad be bounce or anything like that. It is a classic UFE where you miss the court by two or three meters. Great players rarely do that. I saw him make those mistakes a handful of times in less than a playing hour I could watch. It could be nothing (or coincidence), but it rubbed me the wrong way.Quite frankly Mrzz I thought it was going to be Busta that would win the match in 3 sets, his level did dip
Lets see how Jodar goes in his next match, to me he has to improve his movement on clay laterally, often seen late on both sides of the court
I feel Jodar is an aggressive base line player with a 'high risk game' and not surprised he makes ugly misses when trying to go for winners Mrzz.True, but it is more than that.
