Thanks for posting that @britbox it's a lovely thing her friends and family put together.

It's funny, I've gone back through all the private messages Susan and I exchanged over the years. I can't tell you how many times I've re-read the particular message she sent me regarding her diagnosis. At that time she had already been dealing with it for a year. We talked about cancer and I told her hopefully positive stories about people close to me who have in recent years been able to beat the odds.

There are people I've known in real life, who've passed away and it's hit me less hard than this. At first I thought that was odd, but going back, reading the exchanges Susan and I had over the years, about politics, about life... I've come to realise that it's perfectly natural that it was as emotionally impactful. How many people do you meet in real life where you actually share meaningful information about yourself? You really only do that with people who are more than just acquaintances. So when I look back now, I recognise and embrace it, I am touched by it, in a way, that those of us born in the analogue era sometimes hesitate to do.

As @Kieran noted, we were indeed lucky to have her in our lives.
