Rafa Nadal has come on social media to congratulate Ruud on winning Madrid Masters 1000
Rudd often has training blocks at Rafa's academy
BTW Casper Ruud has the ' best dimples' in the ATP :)

I can find anything on Juanito Jarry when I google him, maybe it is a typo error
Nico Jarry has a young son named Juanito he was way to young to play in a tennis tournament
I will keep searching

Draper's loss means that Carlos Alcaraz is the only player to win multiple titles during the Jannik Sinner suspension.
Even still he could not put a dent in Sinners top position, that goes along with Zverev
Zverev is the defending champion in Rome, lets see how he handles it
Sinner had arrived in Rome to begin practice on the courts, he had been practicing at the Monte Carlo country club which was allowable

Hi Mrzz,
I hope you back is better, I think it is a typo as I cant find any info on that player, Nico Jarry does have a young son a todler with the name Juanito Jarry, far too early to play tennis lol!
Nicolas Jarry withdrew due to toe injury

why is Borna playing challengers? I heard this was his 4th one. What happened to him?
@don_fabio can tell you better, but I think he's had a lot of injury issues, and the ranking went down, and he starts going out first round, and so it goes. Why is Stan playing challengers? At least Coric is still relatively young.

Slowly getting better, will have a light practice tomorrow, hopefully it will be all right, thanks for asking.

Yep, I could not find another Jarry in the rankings. I would have spotted it if there was, actually, since I follow the smaller tournaments here in South America.

I'll just tag @kskate2 and answer both of you.

He had some injuries, but not lately really. I think it's motivation issues and his level and confidence dropped a lot too. Maybe he is not the same after all those injuries. He won a few challengers recently, I think 3 or 4. He can now beat challenger guys ranked below 80, but any decent player in top 50 and he is in trouble. Remains to see how it goes from here, but it's a bit like he forgot how to play better. He used to beat top guys occasionally.

And for the Stan, I think he just loves to play while he can and he might be chasing that 1 last title as the old man above 40, if that even means something for the history books.

I found this an interesting stat,
To give an idea of the changed landscape in mens tennis, thats now 19 different masters 1000 champions from 40 events in the post covid era

Coric's another one of those who've come & gone multiple times playing the tour! It seems like he's been around forever! The last noteworthy moment was him coming back from surgery yet again, & w/ a PR won 2022 Cinci Masters, defeating Nadal in the 2nd Rd. IIRC!:fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::astonished-face:

Coric was part of that early cohort of Next Genners to show up in the top 100 well before Medvedev and the rest. I believe Coric snuck in in late 2014. Kyrgios, Pouille, Coric, Chung, Kokkinakis, Zverev were all in the top 100 by the end of 2015. Interesting how some of those guys just faded or never amounted to much, while Next Gen mainstays like Medvedev, Fritz, Rublev etc all took a bit longer.

Musetti will win in Rome is my bold prediction as long as he doesn’t stop to think.

ETA: since hating can be fun I join Mrzz in declaring Draper an eternal “cheater”, it’s very cathartic. ; )
