Jess losing a winnable match is nothing new. Been doing it her whole career. She's pretty predictable at throwing in a head scratcher here and there. Remember she was up 4-1 in the decider on Tatoo or Babs in the Wimby QF and gave that match away. Lost a weird match to Boisson at RG last year, that DC final to Eala this year., the list goes on.

This mental collapse w/ Saba has to be personal. You might be onto something MM when you said she hasn't played well since her engagement, that she pretty much gave the dude an ultimatum about.

Speaking of Eala, I noticed she went out rather meekly in R1 to a nobody and it wasn't even mentioned in the media. They are all over her when she wins a few matches, but go eerily silent if she's in a slump

Keli,

AP and I were discussing Sabalenka's loss at the USO this year, I watched the match from Italy
Lets face it she hasnt played well since IW and Miami, and I did notice since her engagement her form has gone backwards
Brings me to this point she needs to go back and re hire her Sports physocologist she had when she went through a similar period about a few years ago, she wastes soo much mental energy in matches, and when she really needs to focus like today, when she was in a winnable match, just hasnt got the focus to close out a match, apart from hiring a Bio Mechanical Specialist to help her with her serve, one year she had the highest DFs in the WTA, she needs help in her mental state, she puts too much pressure on herself to win, no game plan whatsoever that was so evident in the USO final this year, again her emotions took over and she just never recovered.

I did post about Eala's slump on this post, her heavy schedule has caught up with her, she dosent need to play every WTA250 tournament next year, her team really has to cut back on some tournaments, of course she is and has been the media darling, lets see how she finishes the season, that serve is still in need of immediate attention

Seeing that Diana Shnaider won 75 63 v Muchova today, unless Muchova takes a late WC next week, she is going to have to hope that Swiatek has some early exits or she could be knocked out of the WTA Finals
