She is still playing.
33 years old and counting, she has a bunch of slams already...
But she is ranked #47 today and even sorting by country there are 3 ladies ahead in addition to her sister.

Will she win another?
This may be her last year....

Doubt it very much to be honest. I think quarters at any slam is the best she'll manage personally and even that is a longshot imo. Hope I'm wrong though.

If she's ranked #47 there's more than 3 ladies ahead of her.

Venus hasn't won a slam off grass since 2001, and she hasn't won a slam since 2008. For me, her career has been less than it might have been, leaving aside the health problems she's had the last few years. I never considered her a threat away from Wimbledon since about 2004.

Will she win another slam? In doubles.

Maybe...

Venus won't win another singles slam - that boat has sailed. Still, it's good to see her still playing and she'll probably pick up more doubles silverware.

I love Venus, but she is not winning another singles slam. She may not win another title period and doubles hardware w/ Serena is not a given either.

I am not thinking so. Venus has not been to the semis of a slam since the US Open 2010. The last time she was in the second week of a slam was Wimbledon 2011 4r. Unless Venus finds a form that has her taking out the top 5 consistently, I can't see it happening.

I was sorting by Country. I didn't come clear, I should have explained better.

Madison, Jamie and Sloane are ranked higher than Venus.

Ah sorry! Didn't understand. I thought you meant 3 valid contenders, and if you did you might not be far wrong, actually... ;)

I don't see her winning a GS. But, she may win doubles GS with Serena somewhere
and she may still win a singles title at a weak tournament.

Another moron thinks Sharapova is going to dominate 2014 LOL, to use your words. So I guess they're everywhere. Actually I often wonder do you actually think she is going to win everything in sight or do you simply post stuff for shock value that you don't even believe deep down. Surely after close to a decade's worth of losses to a certain player you can't really see her suddenly dominating. If you do, well...I'll have what you're having and you should probably patent it as a new top selling mass hallucinogenic. You'll be rich if it takes off. It's become the most safe bet in tennis. Safer than Nadal v Federer. The outcome is never in doubt.

Maka makes it two in a row beating up the Williams in the AO. Domination?

Clearly domination alright losing by a single break in a deciding set. Good observation as always.

Can Venus win another Slam?

Venus: I'd like to think I'm on Grand Slam path

Sunday, February 23, 2014 /by Matt Cronin

Venus Williams, who hasn't won a major or reached a major final since she won her seventh Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon in 2008, still feels it’s possible she could win another Slam. She won her 45th career title in Dubai, which is good for second on the list of active players, behind her sister Serena, who owns 58.

"Winning all those Grand Slam titles, playing deep and getting to the final so many times, those are amazing accomplishments," the 33-year-old Williams told reporters. "It takes a lot of nerve and mental prowess. I'd like to think I'm on that path. But I'm not looking to do anything I did in the past, because I already did that. I'm looking to improve and be a better, smarter Venus. This week is obviously a step—every week for me is a step."

RE: Can Venus win another Slam?

Why are you linking to an article written by Sandra Harwitt and quoting Matt Cronin who has no clue in Tennis?
You are doing a disserve to Venus by quoting him. He just copied Venus words and added some sugar ;)
Its a hot topic now so he had to show that he is in the know...

Imo, if Venus can really be healthy she has a chance. Her tennis was always good enough.
So, no one really knows if she can or cant. Her health is the main factor.

Sorry about that, there were several articles that

basically said the same thing and quoted Venus and

there was a mixup.

Thats why I didn't believe Venus could win a major title.

I knew she was still good enough to beat anyone in a match

what I doubted was if she could string enough good matches

to win a big title without her illness popping up. We now know

that she can. I hope this means she is learning to control

her illness. If so,.....here she comes.

If Venus is healthy she can train, play matches and stay in shape. Its important for her training also, not just the tournaments.
