Match ends at 3:34am, so what is the latest night finish to a US Open match? Have Alcaraz/Shelton broken the record?

The final set tiebreak definitely favoured the better server and especially the 10 point format.

I'm so happy for Ben. Hope this is the making of him. That's going to be one hell of a semi final.

The way things are going, Sasha might just cruise through this whole tournament grab a second slam. Who could have imagined this time last year that Zverev would be the run away player of the year and double major winner!?

FYI: My like was for the first paragraph only 'cos there's no way to do a puke emoji for the 2 slam wins for Man Bun possibility and a like for the first part about Shelton :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Great win for Shelton, he’s been playing great all tournament. No gimmicks, no child’s play, just dealing with things maturely. Great to see!:clap:

You know, he took advantage of opportunities presented by absences and injuries to get his first slam and he might get a second too, but I think he’ll be a force next season, regardless of whether Carlos is fully fit or not. He’s gaining in stature, and with the monkey off his back, I expect him to be favourite to win here on Sunday.

He might end the year number one and only get better from there, for a while at least..

I agree. And I for one, I'm happy for him. He's a heck of a player. Not the most exciting to watch. But if he continues to stay brave and crush those forehands there's no telling how much better he can become

Yeah, I watched his first two rounds, 5 setters, and he looks cool, not harassed or stricken with fear. He’s only going to get better. If he wins this we could be looking at a 3-way race next season, everywhere…
