Worst clown Irish accent I recall was Tom Cruise in Far and away. Couldn't bear to watch it. 5 mins was enough. But yeah Brosnan is shocking there. Who the hell talks like that.

Well on Max “The White Lotus” just finished their 3rd season finale episode and it certainly was jam packed with action, though Im not sure that makes up for how slow moving some of the plot narratives this season unfolded.

Chelsea’s death was impactful as of course the most soulful & inward looking of the seasons characters had to die, right?

The whole season the frenemy “friends for life” trio of women were so entertaining, if not really given much to do. The whole “ I love her so much! But did you notice…” vibe in all their conversations was revealing, as was Carrie Coon’s epiphany that time more than anything bonds us to others.

The Ratliff family, so Southern entitled & uber wealthy, (seriously the kids are named Piper, Saxon & Lochlan) i guess will return back to the States stripped of their wealth and with a financial scandal over their heads. Though i can’t stop thinking the Patriarch (Timothy) has some secret off shore accounts. The speculated & nearly accomplished suicides/murders by Timothy of his clan was so drawn out, though as the Southern Matriarch Parker Posey deserves awards just for her line readings. Has anyone ever gotten more out of simply saying Lorazepam? LOL. None of them died. The Bhuddist leaning daughter Piper realizing she can’t live without her creature comforts and her mother approvingly so proud!

Belinda accepting the blood money by Greg to keep her mouth shut , and basically pulling the same stunt that devastated her in season one , when the Jennifer Cooley character pulled out of their spa business by Belinda now opting out of a joint venture with her Thai lover was an ironic twist. Money does change people.

Sam Rockwell is an amazing actor, his bizarre sexual journey monologue in episode 6 was so mesmerizing, and the actor Walton Goggin’s reactive shots were so funny.

Overall I’d say the season was flawed but still worth watching. However IMO you have to see the first 2 seasons.

I liked Season 2 the best, by a lot, of the first 2. Haven't seen the 3rd. Some people seem to like it more than others. I'm not feeling inspired.

Same here. Season 2 was better than Season 1. It definitely ended better and everything happening with those 2 couples made it interesting for me, plus Tanya character is more funny in S02. Some really funny and memorable scenes od that yacht. The locations they chose on Sicily is hard to beat, close to perfection.

Still have to finish Yellowstone but recently binged Landman and the first season of Tulsa King, both also created by Taylor Sheridan.

Sheridan also wrote and directed (mostly) Yellowstone and Landman, and created Tulsa King. The first two of these three shows are excellent, hard, and leanly written by him, and with a twist, he does something I generally detest in modern TV and movies, which is that sometimes politics gets pushed by the characters. The twist? It seldom happens but when it does, it involves a classical patriarchal figure kicking far left talking points in the balls. Fact check him, he’s good!

Landman has Billy Bob (you don’t need his full name) as a fixer and manager for an oil company, battling against empty rigs and drug pushers. It’s very good, but has a similar problem to Yellowstone in that it’s leading female character is barely more than a man’s wish list: a sex addict crazy who’s out of control. Writing women’s parts, in other words, is Sheridans Achilles Heel, though otherwise he’s quite brilliant at setting the scenes and delivering tension.

Tulsa King was created by him but he shares the writing with others, including Terrence Winters of Sopranos fame, and he doesn’t direct. This is also an excellent show. Sly (no second name required) stars as a Mafia capo recently released from prison after 25 years but immediately exiled by his old crew to work in the backwater of Tulsa.

There’s great comedy in the beginning, then it darkens. Fantastic acting and writing. I recommend all these shows, especially Tulsa King because it has more humour than the others, and not at the expense of the storytelling..

We just finished bingeing the first two seasons of Reacher. It’s knuckle-dragging knuckleduster action with a bloke who looks like an AI creation beating the shit out of everybody who crosses him.

Each season has a different revenge tale - and I love revenge films and shows. Equalizer, Statham, watched them all loads of times. Clint westerns. Sometimes we had to look away from Reacher, it can be gruesome, but really, it’s a binger..

Reacher is great and I’m sure you will enjoy the third season as it’s more of the same but has him going up against a bigger beast than himself haha. On a side note the actor recently beat the shit out of his neighbor. I was worried it’d be the end of his career but it was a justified beating.
