Why not? He is doing so well in doubles, perhaps he should focus on that going forward :D

No one seems to care so I guess I'll report; Del Po in a toughy with Goffin! Both are breaking each other down to the wire in the 3rd! Goffin serving for it at 6-5, 30-all! Djokovic coming up against F3! ;-)

Update: Ace; 40-15 - then back to back to close it out with another ACE! CONGRATS! :clap  :dodgy:

Outstanding by Zverev to defeat Cilic in 3 sets

That's Sascha fourth top 10 win in the last three tournaments: Berdych, Wawrinka, Thiem, now Cilic (before you get your panties in a wad, herios, I know Cilic is #11--but it is close enough).

I think he's taken another step forward, a step I didn't expect to see until next year. He could be a legit darkhorse threat next year.

^ Good going alright to a degree but gotta factor in that none of the players above are even close to consistent week, in week out. Stan only ever plays a handful of good matches each year, Thiem is a zombie due to overplaying, Cilic like Wawrinka can be amazing or plain crud and Berdych, well, he's no champion that's for sure.

I hear you, Front, but I'm not saying that Zverev is now an elite. Just that he's taken a big step forward. One win against one of those guys is one thing, but the fact that he's beaten all five in the last few tournaments is rather telling of Zverev and where he's at developmentally.

I think he'll finish in the lower quarter of the top 20 this year and then vie for the top 10 next year. He seems about a year behind Thiem, but is almost four years younger.

Pospisil who has fallen way out of the top 100 this year, ranked 131, scores a big victory against Dimi
Kyrgios has been upset by Misha Zverev another qualifier ranked outside of the top 100.

Kygrios should be heavily fined and suspended because his antics is ruining the integrity of the game. (I felt the same way about Monfils antics at the USO vs Djoker)..I can't stand either of those clowns and I wouldn't attend any match they're playing even if the tickets are free. However it's gonna take Roger to come out and blast those idiots for their lack of commitment and efforts. IMO

Based on this article, he repeated his "performance" from the Canadian master when he lost to Shapovalov:

In fact, this was worst, because I Canada he was not booed much.

I think we saw the difference between Rafa and Nick today - even in decline, the great Nadal is trying his heart out to get better and compete, whereas Nick is a lost soul, truly wasting away his talent, and not realising, careers are short, and before he knows it, he'll be left far behind.

I don't mind if Rafa plays on this year, and competes at the WTF. We're seeing a classic example of a veteran who's wheels are gone wonky, and no matter how he tries, he can't go back in time and be the man he was. Long may be continue to play! I still think that he deserves some luck in his career, and he'll get some before it's out.

Though as Clint Eastwood famously told Gene Hackman in Unforgiven..."deserve's got nothing to do with it..."
