If someone is going to beat Zverev, it's going to be one of the young ones: Jodar, Fonseca, or even Mensik. Zverev is probably not going to lose to a player is familiar and comfortable with (like Rublev or Ruud). Jodar and Fonseca are fearless and definitely have the tools to trouble Zverev.

Zverev's head gets in the way when he is pressured, as we seen time and time again
I not convinced he can win
Lets see how he fares in his QF match against Jodar

Jodar should play without pressure, but his level seems to be dropping. He played a lot of tennis this clay season. I am also not putting my money on Zverev to win RG. I just don't trust him, when he gets pushed and he will be pushed expect him to fold again.

Not many good matches today, but I hope Ruud Fonseca match will it make it worth.

Agree Don, quite frankly I thought Busta would win in 3 sets, he had the dip and lost
Jodar can be pushed laterally on clay, he needs improvement in that area, also he plays a High Risk Game from the baseline
Holpefully Ruud v Fonseca will be worth watching

I can see Ruud beating Zverev, but it would take Ruud playing up a level and Zverev down a level. Ruud clearly has a better mental game than Zverev, but Ruud has more limitations. We saw what happened when they met in the 2024 FO semis.

I cannot see Rublev beating Zverev. Everything about Rublev's game plays into Zverev's favor. For all the problems Zverev has, Rublev has those problems... and much more. There's a reason why Rublev hasn't been able to get over the QF final at the slams.

It would be a comfortable straight sets win if Rublev ever met Zverev at a slam, but of course, Rublev isn't going to make it that far. I expect Mensik or Fonseca to be Zverev's opponent in the semis (should Zverev beat Jodar, and that's not even a walk in the park).

Don if you are still around
I missed the entrance when Jodar making his way on court he refused to take the young girls hand walking on the court
Am I being petty lol!

If I had to put real money on it, I'm taking Zverev to win the match. This matchup favors Zverev, and he probably wins at least 9 times out of 10. The 2024 French Open SF is a good baseline, and the match wasn't really close when they met. Ruud really has to play up a level to win this match.

Before we get there, though, Ruud has a tough road against Fonseca, and potentially Mensik.

Now you reminded me of that Italian guy 2 weeks ago in Rome, (was it Cobolli?). He had sunglasses on before entering the court and just passed by a ball girl in his own world. That was actually funny.

Guga in the house supporting Fonseca
Fonseca breaks Rudd who was trying to serve to stay in the 1st set and wins 75, Fonseca had 3 chances earlier but put added pressure and got the break

Frances told Faria :"stop acting tough" prompting the umpire to intervene, just an heated exchange, it was a tough 5 set victory and I think tiredness etc got in the way, nothing too serious from my point of view

Ruud had no business winning that point, my goodness he has done it again, great hands, Fonseca hasnt done anything wrong
Ripping fhand winner from Foneseca, Fonseca fighting hard to win his service game, big mental and physical effort from Fonseca and he holds
Ruud will serve to force a TB for the 2nd set at 5-6

The Kid is just SIC what a shot down the line, playing Fearless
Rudd such a good clay court player using the whole court with angles
Ruud thinking what the hell do I have to do to win my service game, still cant escape as yet to win and force a TB for the 2nd set
Okay a TB for the 2nd set
