I think Carlos is better than Jannik so I’m not surprised when he beats him, but generally the men’s game now is too predictable. I know Rafa and Roger shared airtime before Novak came along but the narrative was different, given the age gap, and that Rafa was chasing Roger, who was default.

Now I want Novak taken out but actually he’s become a thousand times more dangerous. His eyebrows raised when Carlos withdrew but right now he’s crawling the walls, plotting excessively to get this title. And yes, he’ll cheat, lie and beat his granny to death, if he has to..

Sad news for Alexander Blockx who was practicing with Fonseca and fell at the back of the court and did his ankle and of course he had to withdraw in his up coming match against de Minaur. Blockx will travel back to Belgium and have scans. I hope it isnt serious
According to Yahoo Sports, Blockx is considering legal action for tripping over the court cover - largely because there were no signs warning to be careful of court covers. This sounds like one of those "There was no warning the coffee was hot before I spilled it" type of cases.

Thanks I feel he has every right to consider legal action

Yeah, who knew you could trip over something that can trip you up?

Do you actually watch matches at RG so far, if you did you would know FAA has been struggling against lower ranked players full stop!
When Novak looses this slam becomes the Gaston Guido or Andres Gomez type of championship. Meaning someone who probably will never sniff another chance at winning another GS.. FAA has been playing down to the level of his competition. FAA is like owning Bitcoins, sometimes it is performing very well and other times it’s goes into the tank.

Ruud vs Tommy Paul . that should be a 5 setter
sure.. if it was hard court, or maybe American clay. We're talking about Casper Ruud here... isn't he a 2 time finalist at RG? Levels to this...

doesn't mean it won't be a 5 setter of course, but if they both have their druthers... should be comfortable for Ruud

we shall see.. I think these guys are carbon copy of each other although as you say, Ruud is more accomplished of the two players.. tommy is a grinder..noOne beats him in straight sets or bagel/breadsticks.. the guy make the proper counters during a match.. I like his game

Fonseca is passive for whatever reason. Understandable. If he could only turn it up a bit, he would be fine.

Well it ain't over yet. If he wins this third set, maybe he can wear Novak down.

De Minaur bagels Mensik in the first set, but Mensik breaks back to start the 2nd.
