Zero time to spare lately so could not post these last few days. I could watch a few parts of matches while eating lunch or something like that.
First things first: GO BUBLIK, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty surprised no one here is talking about the incident with Musetti in the Tiafoe match. I heard a comentator say the rule changed since the Djokovic incident. I heard and read a lot of stuff back then... it amazes me how people comment on a thing without reading the actual fucking rule book.
While I was in a boring meeting, I cared to check:
1) First myth: the rule changed from 2020 to now: no, it did not.

2) Second myth: hitting a linesperson or any other person in an outburst means automatic disqualification: no, it does not, just check "abuse of balls" and "defaults" above.
3) Third myth (well, not a myth yet, but I have seen two people say it already): Incidents are the same, according to the rules. No, the rules mention "dangerously". In the Musetti incident, linesperson didn't flinch. In the Djokovic incident, linesperson showed visible signs of pain/harm.
Given 3) above, I get that both incidents should be handed differently. Having said that, do I think Djokovic should be disqualified from USOPEN 2020? It is a judgement call (see 2 above and read the rule book before replying). What I am pretty sure is that Musetti should NOT be disqualified.
