SURFACE: Indoor Hard
PRIZE MONEY: $668,460
FIELD SIZE: 28
DEFENDING CHAMPION: New Event
Seeds:
TBA
The Tournament: The Memphis Open relocates to Long Island in 2018, ensuring the continuation of one of the ATP World Tour’s longest-running tournaments in the United States. The New York Open, an ATP World Tour 250 event, will be held from 12-18 February 2018 at NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
The Players:
Committed are: Querrey, Anderson, Isner, Nishikori, Harrison, The Bryans, Mannarino, Steve Johnson, Frances Tiafoe, Ivo Karlovic and Jeremy Chardy, amongst others.
About Long Island:
Long Island is many things. Its history goes way back to colonial and shipping days. It has always been farm country, wine country, the sleepy suburbs, and the getaway from the city for the rich and famous. The new tournament is essentially equidistant from the BJK tennis center (home of the USOpen) to the east, as Manhattan is to the west, firmly located in the suburbs, but convenient to Manhattan via the Long Island Railroad.
