I think Kei, at his best, was better than Dimitrov or Raonic, the "Little Three" of Lost Gen (if we count Thiem as Next Gen). The big titles are spread thin with that group: Among players born 1989-92, only Dimitrov (2), Sock (1), and Carreno Busta (1) won big titles. Thiem (93) won two, no one from 94, Norrie (1) from '95, then it is the heart of Next Gen in 96-97 with a bunch of big title winners.

The 1994 cohort has to be the worst ever for men's tennis. I can't think of any other birth year that comes close.

Lets remember that Cruz Hewitt was given a qualifying wild card into Washington he also benefited from 2 successive mid match retirements that assisted him into the main draw, still he did have a good 1st round match win, he has met his match in de Minaur whose game against Tsistipas I would rather forget period.
Okay de Minaur serving for the 1st set 5-0 and Cruz broke him, a more respectable score line than being beaten 6-0 in the 1st set
