Let's call this a learning experience for the kid and leave it at that. He knows what could have happened today.
Congrats to Isner too. He did his part.

Isner wins the match by winning another TB.

I would prefer FAA to have won this match, to encourage an youngster.

But, I prefer Isner as an easier opponent for the other finalist (being politically correct).

Great run for FAA. Not surprised he lost to Isner.

@Federberg , he DFs a lot - it is one of his weaknesses.
Ah! I hadn't noticed before. To be honest, it was less the double fault, or even his dodgy 2nd serve, that's fairly normal at his stage of development. It's the ball toss that's a real problem. Something like that can be difficult to fix

Shapo-Roger...I am OK with either one winning but maybe want Roger to win a bit more . Another Miami title would be nice. Not that I am saying it is guaranteed against Isner but he should take that one.

Roger is dialed in, hittin AO 2017 backhands, Shapo a bit shell shocked.

Shapo's level is rising at least. He's got fight in him. I'm a big fan. Next time he plays Roger I think he'll push him closer. Too much of the fan the first time

Roger would have made Edberg proud with that half volley pick up.
Dennis is forgiven today for being shell shocked but I am impressed with his speed. Just like FAA, these two Canucks have serious wheels.

Roger was deadly tonight. Always a good sign when he can play like this on a slow court. Now it's time to finish the job this time on Sunday.

I almost felt like this high level was wasted on a Masters 1000 semi, because this would win him a slam final !
He better win this title now. After spanking the Canuck.
