I hope some young guy will make the top of the game before the big 4 are completely done so that it won't feel like the big-4 era and post-big-4 era but rather like the early 2010s big 4 transformed into a new big 4 of a new generation.
But yeah, tennis needs some sort of a group of top players. After 2013, I was already hoping for the end of the big 4 era and 2014 was that, guys like Wawrinka and Cilic winning slams. But they couldn't cement themselves into semis and finals of big events, after all there was a big 2 of Nole and Fed, and Fed didn't even win a slam. Tennis needs few (3-5) players on the top of the game to fight for the #1 ranking and then guys like Wawrinka/Cilic who can win a slam if they play their best tennis. But the big 3/4/5 must change over years, the same guys on the top will get boring soon.

I was going to say something to this effect. Nole is entering his prime. He's worked very hard to become even more well rounded as a player. He should be free to enjoy the fruit of his labors without people griping about a regime change.
Murray has been playing some beautiful aggressive tennis lately. He is always fun to watch when he plays that way... said from a non-fan.

So, everyone is sick of some part of the big four... and some are sick of all of them.

My post doesn't state either of those. Just because I, for example, want Rafa to win more, that doesn't mean I'm sick of the Big Four, in any combination.
El Dude said:nehmeth, Novak isn't "entering his prime." He's been in his prime since late 2010 or early 2011. The only difference is that Roger has slipped a bit more and Rafa taken a nose-dive this year, so his dominance is unchallenged.
Anyhow, I think one can be sick of Big Four dominance and it not be a Fedal sour grapes thing. I simply want to see more new blood, more variation in who is in finals. It is all so predictable.

Not as predictable as 2-3 years ago. See what just happened today.
EDIT: I am sure today some folks made some big bucks betting on Stan

I will concede your nitpicking point... he's been in his prime for some time. At the same time, it is you guys sniping about being sick of the big four. I am happy for a variation... watching Fed drop gracefully and Rafa, not so gracefully will provide that transition. Why do Novak and Murray have to suffer? Let them win the titles they've labored to earn. Many of us have been tired of Fedal for a long time... you guys can suffer a little.

Well as long as Roger and Rafa are replaced with fresh blood and not a Novak-Andy hegemonic tandem. That would be dreadfully boring tennis, IMO.
