By the way, Med's default means he forfeits all his prize money and ranking points from the tournament.

As he reached the semi, I believe that default has cost him around $220,000 and 200 ranking points. An expensive day at the office.

Djoke beating up on his faithful pigeons; Zed and Med. You can't make this stuff up. Med was like 1-15 BP's converted. Then gets mad and gets himself DQ'd. As Fred would say, You Big Dummy!

He better hope they don't levy an additional fine or suspension. We'll see what the Energizer Bunny does in the final tomorrow. I can see him running Djoke around until he falls over. He looks gassed all the time now, gulping for breath. He was actually begging Leyhani not to call the score so quickly so he could recover. LOL

Baron,
Medvedev also wont return to 5th place in the rankings, he will remain 8th in the Race To The Finals he could have finished 5th in case of a title
I have posted the details earlier on the Rankings Post, after his disqualification, 200 ranking points and a loss of $219,295

BTW.,
Medvedev could also possibly face a larger unsportsmanlike conduct fine, potentially up to $10,000 or more
Because Medvedev maintained that the shot hitting the spectactors eye was an accident deflection rather then an intentional act of anger, tour officials and the ATP are still reviewing, whether to impose further official disciplinary fines

It's a long season... Too bad for Alex DeMinaur...

Alex was playing out of his mind; retrieving Novak's best from the baseline! Looked as if it would go the distance until TB where de Minaur must've pulled a groin muscle! After break, he came back to test it, won his serve, then "Retired" giving Tourn. win to Novak; his 102nd ATP title! He gave the fans a little Cantonese accepting trophy!:fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::astonished-face:

Well. At least Djokovic gets back to winning ways. Got some matches under his belt here and got some rythm and confidence back. It might not have been his most convincing final but to me he seems great given the last 7-8 months he's had. Okay just a small ATP 500 tournament, nothing huge but he beat some great players out there. At least got himself out of a slump. Now, he's supposed to take this momentum forward and try and do something bigger in the coming months. AO looking good.

Beating Zverev, Medvedev and De Minaur back to back sure means something. He might be onto something here. But, he doesn't want to get ahead of himself here. What matters is being grounded, staying healthy and competitive and taking it one match at a time.

Alex de Minaur who had to retire in the final, says he felt something in his adductor, his plan is to go to Shanghai and get the tests done
