Apparently Haas is nursing a shoulder injury.

Poor Haas. I feel for the guy.

Off topic, but with an avatar like that, I automatically count you as a friend. Hoping Murray takes the Munich title!

Yeah, good to see Tommy is taking his time to come back strong. Hopefully he makes his return at Halle.

Think I read somewhere that Murray has hired Jonas Bjorkman to help during the clay court season. Apparently Mauresmo is expecting her first baby.

Welcome to Tennis Frontier! :)

Yes, I saw something on the Tennis Channel about his hiring Bjorkman, since Amelie is going to focus on her pregnancy. I don't think it's limited to the clay court season. In fact, I believe it was mentioned that he'll take over as full time coach around Wimbledon.

Think Bjorkman got as far as No4 in the world rankings, and has also won a few doubles Grand Slam titles. He was a good volleyer and could return pretty well too. I think his experience may help Murray, and may give him a different prespective to the game. Just my opinion.

It's worth trying, right? Things have gone sideways since Lendl left, so Andy needs to find someone to get him back to his former self.

Couldn't agree with you more especially when you mentioned Andy getting back to his former self. Which is when he was at his best. The same could be said for Rafa, but I suppose we'll discuss this on a different topic.

So is Mauresmo out for good or just on maternity leave? (Is there such a thing for tennis coaches?) I'm kind of excited about this Bjorkman hire actually. I'm very interested to see what he can do with Murray to get him over that final hurdle (again).

Right, that's the big question now. Nothing was mentioned either way in what I heard, but more details could be coming soon ...

My guess: This is a good excuse to switch coaches. It's not just maternity leave.

What I understand is that Bjorkman will stay with Murray until after this years U.S. Open and until Mauresmo has had her baby, then it will be up to her. But surely it will be difficult for her to continue as Andy's coach under those circumstances.
