I cant see Clara coming back now in this match she is down a double break in the 3rd set, though the net cord did favored Barbora in points.

Clara didnt disgraced herself in the match, she got much needed match play, maing the SF, she now heads to WTA500 Citi DC Washington tournament, she is getting the match play needed before WTA1000 Toronto

She needs to get her serve back...I don't know if she changes her ball throw because of her back problems but it clearly has weakend her serve tremendously. Too bad. She could have easily won this match with a better first serve.

Sakkari has a break in the 1st set and leading 4-1
Babora gets the break back, and serving 4-5

Barbora wins the 1st set 76(5) as Maria misses a volley and Barbora wins the 1st set
Sakkari has to watch her DFs when she had the break in the 1st set, she gifted the break back to Barbora with a DF, lets see how she responds in the 2nd set

This is ground breaking!

Following cultural momentum around anti trans pushes in sports, the WTA has enacted a new policy that will require 'All ' players to undergo genetic sex testing in order to continue playing on the WTA Tour!

I will try and get further info,

Starting this month, the WTA is taking unprecedented step of requiring all of its players to undergo genetic testing to weed out any women who may have a specific genetic marker that suggest traces of male biology. This will make the WTA the first independent pro womens sports league or tour to mandate such genetic screening for all its athletes.

To preserve the integrity of women's professional tennis and maintain fair competition conditions for all players.
Martina N, Chris Evert and Sabalenka have been outspoken of fair sport and equal opportunities for women.

I will be interested to hear any comments from WTA players on this new rule and if they think it is a invasion on their personal privacy or members of the Players Committee, surely they will be making a statement on behalf of the players in the WTA tour.
I will keep my eyes peeled for any further statements regarding this new WTA policy

The final of the Unicredit losi Open has been cancelled due to heavy rain,
Badosa v Sherif will have to come back tomorrow final is scheduled for Monday 11am local time
NOTE:
Both players are playing in Hamburg next week.

I can't believe how Maria just went on and on during her finalist speech. She rambled over 6 minutes where Babs, the winner only talked for 3 minutes.

Without hearing the finalist speech I can quickly assume that she was crushed to not capture the title. One thing I have always admired about Rafa is he didn’t ramble or waste words regardless.

In the final of the Uni Credit lasi Open, which had to be replayed today at 11am due to rain yesterday
Paul Badosa retired in the final against Sherif, trailing 64 4-0 in the 2nd set, she cited physical exhaustion and illness and apologized on court to the fans at the trophy ceremony ( Badosa was on a 9 match winning streak )
Sherif from Eygpt is the Uni Credit lasi Open title winner, this is Sherif's 2nd WTA title

NOTE:
Badosa is back in the Top 100 despite her retirement in the final.

Sad news,
Jasmine Paolini has withdrawn from the up coming WTA500 Citi DC Washington and will also miss WTA1000 Toronto as she wants to give her foot more time to rest.

Just looking at the entry list for the USO,
Vicky Mboko is not on the list, I am not surprised, Vicky has already withdrawn from Toronto and I expect she will withdraw from Cinncy as well, shame, still getting her knee healed is her top priority now., quite frankly I wont be surprised if Vicky dosent come back this year, as Baptise sad to say has already been ruled out for the rest of the year with her ACL
