I was just SB Clara's match in Greece
Safe to say she has improved on her first match giving her opponent in the 2nd set a bagel?
Yeah much better as stats also show

Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from both WTA1000 Toronto and WTA1000 Cincinnati due to lower leg fracture
Raducanu's playing at this years USO looks doubtful

Speaking of the the Odessey.. I see Athena defeated Alyica Parks .. both ladies would have been perfect for movie extras.. I think I will make them my Bond girls when I get the call to be the lead actor.

And again a little bit better - think it was a good idea to join a WTA250 tournament - she played well with a few errors

WTA250 Athens Open,
SFs
Friday 17th July,

Sakkari (4) vs Korneeva
Tauson (1) vs Krejcikova (3)
Athena looks like she has drop a few kilos. she looks very light on her feet.. My girl AP looked sluggish and definitely didnt have her A game.. That's why it so important to take out the early round pigeons in straight sets to conserve the energy for the later rounds. Good win for Maria Sakkari.. our Greek goddess

Sad News,

Karolina Muchova had to undergo small surgery and is out of the WTA1000 Toronto.
Muchova had some kind of issues just under her right ribcage when she was playing the final, I wonder if this was what required surgery
Just a further update, Karolina said the surgery went well and is already working on her recovery and hopefully will be back on the court soon.

Maria Sakkari playing some of the best tennis, seen from her in sometime at home this week in Athens
SF leads 6-1 vs Korneeva
Maris served for the match at 5-4, broken, broke straight back and won the 2nd set 75 and the match and she is the first player through to the final, awaits the winner of the 2nd SF Tauson v Krejcikova

No No I was talking about the Wimbledon ladies final not Athena in the match in Athens.
LOL! sorry I will fix my head properly need another strong short black :), Muchova has had injuries sad to say all of her career, she either comes on court with bandages over parts of her body and has missed a lot of the tour due to surgery her wrist seems to be a problem
Anyway she appears to be in good spirits after this minor surgery, I love watching her play

Krejickova too good for Tauson in the 2nd SF wins the 1st set 61 lasted just 47 mins, though at times in the 1st set match was much closer

I believe all players have niggling injuries or are just plain weary! The game's gotten too physical & players prove my point by not being able to play week after week w/o suffering or paying for it! Sinner amazed us all by taking the 1st 5 Masters of the season, but it was obvious his FO effort was diminished thru exhaustion! I'm surprised he recovered enuf to defend his Wimbledon title! He obviously needed the rest as he skipped all grass warm-up events! People probably should appreciate Djokovic's efforts, "hangin'" in there w/ how matches c/b a "life & death" struggles like his 5 set thriller QF vs FAA! If not for going so long, I believe Nole might have been more comp. against Sinner; not necessarily win, but give more to it! Novak was dead on his feet even w/ a 2 day rest & given even more time by bestoying the 2nd slot on Friday's SF! As for the ladies, I can only assume they're going thru the same declines/growing pains of their tour, working just as hard as the guys! :astonished-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face::yawningface:

This is a Fun Fact,
Maria Sakkari reaching the Athens final, Maria's mother reached the Athens final in 1986. What a special moment for the family!
