Even though Coco lost in the SFs she has improved on grass, remember last year she went out in round 1?
Coco can take positives from this years Wimbledon

That was the dumbest match point from Coco. What the hell was she thinking? Open court and she tries to finesse a drop shot!?? Disgusting!
Hi Federberg

It was kind of a Brain Freeze from Coco the TB was a Pressure Cooker and probably thought to attempt the drop shot so Muchova didnt have time to return? just my thought, also missing on MP didnt help her cause

It was a set up volley. If she would have over hit the volley I could have dealt with the results. CoCo had over a dozen shots to play.. I dont know how she recovers from this.. Coco's Tennis IQ during the tbr was extremely high until the end. Coco's ability to problem solve is extremely high and combined with her athleticism typically bails her out. Coco trying a drop shot 3 feet away from the net is like Seattle coaching staff making Russell Wilson throwing a pass at the 1 year line is incredibility foolish.

A great stat for Czech players at Wimbledon, in the Open Era ( started 1968)
10 times Czech players made the Wimbledon finals, Novotana, Krejcikova, Vondrousova, Pliskova, Kvitova and Mandlikova
In the last 6 years, there have been 3 for 2 wins, lets see if Muchova can tie that winning rate in the final

lol! Brain freeze is understating it. Zero kelvin stuff there. I hope she learns from it. That was a shot that pretty much anyone in the audience would have put away. It's absolutely shocking. Particularly as she seems to have learned how to come to the net (kudos to her for that). It seemed very clunky, but all of a sudden I believe she will have the ability in future to win Wimbledon, something I never really believed before

Gosh Coco is human? we have all done Dumb things in pressure moments lol!, the other day playing doubles with hubby I did 2 lets and then DF my serve away, on MP? I got a what in the hell look from my hubby :)
As I was saying this year Coco can be proud of her grass court play she has improved soo much making the SF considering last year she went out in R1
Coco at times is too defensive on grass, to me that in ways has been her downfall
Lets see how she goes in 2027 I have always said Coco has the game for grass

MM. serving a double fault is more difficult than missing a set up punch out volley that 90 percent of people who play tennis can make in their sleep. The reason you serve down the T is to neutralize your opponent and take control of the net. For some reason CoCo decided to stop her feet from moving which she knows is the WORST thing you can do to win the point. This is gonna haunt her for a while and it should.. Regardless of the up and down in the match..You dont try a drop shot when you are in total control of the net and point.

We will have history making for the ladies final as 2 Czech players will meet Muchova v Noskova for the first time Ever

Czech players have historically dominated and reached multiple SFs in the Open Era.

AP
I understand missing a DF is more difficult than missing a set up punch volley, you have to Move Your Feet always, of course it will haunt Coco, sometimes when I watch a player not moving their feet on important points I feel they have ' mentally frozen' if you get my point
Coco is a very mature player for her age, she will take that in her stride not clinging to that horrid moment and move on, and in ways AP that is how you can be a better player, just my opinion, not dwelling on the negatives but taking the positives out of any loss

Great talking to you as usual AP on technical points in a match I love it:)
I have to get some beauty sleep as it is 3.30am in the morning
Talk later AP!
