Sinner's serve is harder to read. He improved a lot in this part of his game. It used to be a weakness, now is a huge weapon.

Hi Don'
His team has been tweaking it again, it has been a stand out in Wimbledon, he needed it especially when he was in the early rounds getting rid of dust on his baseline game, he really stepped up in the SF against Novak., which I thought he would do
I am not a fan of playing lights out tennis for any player in the 1st week, players should be getting their overall game better for the 2nd week when it really matters

idc about this match but I was just having a thought

novak has won only 1 of the last 10 grand slams he has been in. It's about time he puts his act together and wins a slam.

It's hard to win a slam at this age. The same thing happened to Federer at the end. Novak and Fed are the only ones to still be this competitive at 37+.

REALLY slick how you moved the goal posts to fit this narrative.. Rafael Nadal was 36 years old when he won his last two Grand Slam titles.

Djokovic can win at 42 too. His tenacity and youth is beyond compare. People from different backgrounds age differently. Some people age slowly while people in other countries age up quickly. It may be a genetic or cultural thing.

Having said that I don't mind if Alcaraz or Sinner have great careers but at this moment winning even 12+ slams for both would take a lot of patience and discipline. That tells you how great the big 3 were.

the poster basic premise was not to discredit Novak or Roger but to throw a dig at Nadal.. no worries

People were saying the same about Federer before the pandemic, when he nearly won Wimbledon over prime Djokovic. Sometimes, the walls close in faster than you think. Djokovic has been gradually declining each year since 2023. If Djokovic (at 39) can't beat Sinner and Alcaraz, what makes you think that he will suddenly get better 3 years from now and beat those guys plus 23/24-year-old Mensik/Tien/Fonseca/Jodar, not to mention people rising from the crop of 20-22 year-olds in the 2007-09 cohorts?

1 game and I am bored already. It is 28 degrees (Celcius) outside and in Canada when you get this weather, you go out and play tennis.
I will make some calls.
Yeah, they definitely need to speed the grass back up. These guys are not true grass court players, and would have a hard time making the 2nd week on the grass that Sampras and Federer played on. It's boring to see the same players in the finals every time.

At least with the women, you had two up and coming players make and win the French Open and Wimbledon.

Zverev's father seems like a good old man. Tennis players mostly get some crazy parents, but this guy doesn't give me that madman vibe. Maybe I am wrong.

Zverev saved BP. Sinner shanked a FH. Speaking of FH, Zverev already with 7 errors on FH side. Still a weakness..
