Having Panatta here at RG they probably thought he would be handing out the winning trophy to Jannik MEH!

I hope Zverev finds a good barber in Paris and cuts off the awful Man Bun Meh, when he takes the bun out his hair now is longer than shoulder length

Flavio has the face of an 'angel' :) lovely eyes as well
Pity he could not get the job done, still this was his first GS final and a good learning experience for him and it went 5 sets too!
Not too bad he receives $1.6 million getting to the final, gee look at all the wonderful clothes, shoes and handbags I could buy with that amount of money :)

Good for Zverev, and good for the game. He’ll hopefully makes his future slam experiences less timid and more exciting. Plus, he beat Rafa there, so it’s kind of symmetrical in some way that he crowns that with a title…
AP
This has been the Wackiest RG that I can remember lol! especially on the mens side ( probably on the womens side as well)
I just saw the lowlights..that championship match point was dreadful.. all he had to do was treat it like a serve and play it off the bounce..good grief..

Yes.they always the winner’s home country anthem
Yep it is the only GS that plays the home country anthem that what makes it soo special to me
Still remember to this day, Rafa always had tears in his eye when they played the Spanish anthem, being there live also teared me up
I dont think they played Mirra's anthem yesterday, no flag, also the war is still on, sad to say, still that isnt the Russian players fault

He is a young man let him wear long ..it’s his generation.. what a great championship acceptance speech..Bravo Sascha
As long as he washes it AP, sometimes it looks like a Grease Ball, hey I come from Italy, men still wear their hair long, must keep long hair in good conditioned with trims at the Barber every 6 weeks

Unbelievable missed opportunity for some seasoned players like FAA, Tiafoe, even Berrettini.
Even the TV analysts couldnt lie to say it was a well played match.. Too bad because I know both players are capable of producing higher levels of tennis. It happens.

As for who will win the final 2 slams in 2026, I'll go with Novak at Wimbledon and Jannik at the US Open.

Wimbledon favors experience. No one in the field has more experience than Novak. He has won the tournament 7 times, and is on the verge of setting the match wins record. Novak does it in style, and ties Federer's 8 titles at Wimbledon.

At the US Open, no male champion has repeated since Federer won 5 in a row. Jannik wins the slam he didn't last year to continue the streak.

Dont count your chickens with Novak winning Wimbledon! Jannik is well rested and the defending champion, also he has already had a practice session on the grass.,
LOL Wimbledon favors experience, Jannik took Novak to the wool shed in the SF of Wimbledon in 2025 gee your memory is short!

AP,

Getting back to clay tennis which is my favorite and does separates the Boys from the Men
This year sad to say it hasnt lived up to expectations sad to say, hopefully Wimbledon will be better shock losses on the mens and womens side at RG this year
I know you are happy with Zverev winning, but this final was painful to watch and was below par even though it went 5 sets

with all of these injured players which was evident at RG.. I would not favor any player.. Men's tennis is not in a good place at this moment.

Sounds about right even w/ a lack of practice By Novak! I guess I s/b impressed Sinner has won the 1st 5 Masters of the season w/ 4 to go! No doubt he can at least tie Novak for 6 when done back in 2015! That was 1 of those records I didn't think c/b broken, but somehow Sinner's separated himself from the rest even though comp. is rather tough! They still haven't broken thru until this French Open allowing a 1st time Major winner outside "the elites" since Cilic back in 2014! Wawrinka, Thiem, & Medv were already near the top of the rankings back then! :angry-face::astonished-face::yawningface:

Yeah.. I hear ya.. I am definitely look forward to seeing Serena even if she decides to not play singles or if she is only able to last a couple of rounds. My guys Fils and Rune are iffy coming back from injuries.. Probably Sinner will return to form to win the title and hopefully someone knocks out Novak early.
