Jack Draper has been given a main draw wildcard into ATP1000 Monteral ( lets see if he actually plays his first match, he was given a wild card into ATP500 Washington, withdrew before playing his first match, citing arm/ shoulder pain )

FAA is not hiring a new full time coach before the US Open, FAA stated he will play through the hard court swing and the US Open without a permanent replacement, expecting to announce his next coach afterward in September

Interesting. that means he really is interviewing to find the right fit at this point in his career

Or we could look at it another way, maybe he has already found his coach and his new coach cant start till after the USO? just my thoughts, I could be wrong, just thinking outside the box.

BTW,
Due to calendar shift, last year's Canada points drop off a week earlier this year, before players have a chance to defend them. This affects Cincinnati seedings. For example, on the mens side Sinner and Alcaraz ( if he plays) will be the Top 2 seeds, Zverev will be seeded 3rd.
Cincinnati draw will be made Tuesday August 11th, when Canadian Open is still a QF stage so its results will not affect Cincinnati seedings

At this point its really about his mentality .. I thought FAA had a very good SW19 and if he can maintain that focus he may get El Dude back on his radar. If he can serve like he did he will win a lot of matches and hopefully if he plays against advanced player like Novak he can find a way to prevail.

If you go back to his match at Wimbledon against Novak, in the TB which in hindsight he should have won, he missed a overhead, which he normally dosent miss? it could and would have changed the outcome of the match, agree at times he has to maintain good focus/mentality on big points.
I would love him to win the Canadian Masters this year, he is seeded No 2, he has been R/U twice at Masters level.

on a different note MM are you going to see the Rams vs 49ers in Sept (week 1)? ... Its got to be the best off shore NFL football match up EVER.. Two teams that won more than 13 games in the regular season .. two top 5-7 SB odds favorites I Know Los Angeles is gutted to loose that home game although the 49ers fans (the Faithful) typically taken over that stadium.

it probably was nerves for FAA... I am quite sure its not as easy as it appears... For my memory I think the only person I felt handled the overheads the best were McEnroe and Sampras with his leaping abilities .. I always try to treat an overhead like a serve.. I try to out run the ball .. let it bounce and try to use the court positioning to my advantage.

I was always told to let the ball bounce, though I have seen both men and women deciding to take the ball out of the air, some are successful, most are not
Agree playing an overhead on any part of the court its not easy as it appears
