Cincinnati is looking like a fun tournament to watch. Not only is Alcaraz (hopefully) coming back, but Holger Rune is also on the entry list.
Lets see if Rune does play, he has been having knee problems, still no official word from Alcaraz doctor as yet to give him the all clear to get back to intensity training, even though his doctor said his wrist is healed

So on average it is the same (5+7+9)/3=7. What is the point then?

@MargaretMcAleer
Edit:
Actually, they reduced it from 9 games to 7, period. The first used to occur in 7 (and now in 5), because they assume warm up is equivalent to two games.
A few players have expressed concerns about the quality of the balls and how they fluff up too quickly - slowing everything down. Maybe that's one of the reasons for tinkering with the change.

There's a dirty joke in that sentence, but I can't quite grab it.
Actually it was backed by The Players advisory Council, it follows player feedback and hard court ball wear ( regardless of the dirty joke in that sentence :) I can name players that have Whinged about the balls used lately in hard court tournaments, one of the biggest whingers has been the ' former hard court specialist Medvedev :)

Yes it will be interesting to see if he is fit enough to play or he waits a bit longer.

Baron and El Dude,

This is Medvedev's current view of the balls used during ATP tournaments, who has been a long time whinger of the balls used in the ATP, At the Lexington Challenger next month they will trial more frequent balls changes

" Now even when I make a good return, there's 1 or 2 where I cant hit a better return and the ball stop through the air, it favors those who can generate power from dead balls, Jannik and Carlos, it gives them an extra edge"

Rune’s Achilles is completely healed? or is the knee a result of it or something new ?

MM I noticed that Safin is still with Rublev. I see in the crowd about 6-8 models or is they some of Marat’s 304s in attendance?

It may be a valid argument but Daniil’s mindset needs to be focused on how he going to overcome this bit of a handicap in his mindset
