Is Fed itching for a return to professional tennis in 2027? (I'd be for it considering that Fed never really got a proper exit in 2021.)

No Federer is not itching to return to professional tennis, he has said numerous times he has too many commercial interests to attend to, now that he has retired.
Federer will play along side Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi and John McEnroe in the exhibition

Holger Rune withdraws from Queens Club and postpones his comeback. It was expected to mark his return but has been deemed to early in his recovery. Rune remains focused on a comeback at Wimbledon, with the option of playing exhibition matches to complete his preparation.

Usual time with rehab is 9 months to 12 months, he has already suffered a set back with a slight knee injury? he should wait or he could suffer another serious injury and that could be his season for 2026
I have seen footballers coming into our emergency with the same injury a lot of them it is season ending
