Stan is going to be a first ballot inductee in 2031. The real debate is whether Del Potro will get in. If he doesn't, then Medvedev won't either, unless he pads his resume with a 2nd slam.

Cilic would have been an interesting case if he did not have the PED issue. Without that, I think he probably eventually gets in like Ivanisevic. Their career stats are pretty much in line.

While there's a lot of season to go, Jannik Sinner is on pace for his third season in a row with a 90 Win% or better. He would join a rather exclusive club of only four players to have three seasons in a row with 90W%:

Connors: 1974-76 (also 1978)
Borg: 1977-80
Lendl: 1985-87 (also 1982, 1989)
Federer: 2004-06 (also 2017)

As you can see, Borg had four seasons in a row.

There have only been 25 seasons in the Open Era, 26 if you round up Andy Murray's 89.7 in 2016.

Here are all players with at least one season:

5 seasons: Lendl
4 seasons: Connors, Borg, Federer
2 seasons: Nadal, Djokovic, Sinner
1 season: Vilas, McEnroe

Anyhow, I think this gives a sense of Sinner's high level of consistent dominance.

Men’s tennis is in trouble with Carlos out injured. It’s really not as strong as it needs to be. Even that there’s only two players who win things, and now one of them is out. It’s a bad product, when we know the score before the end. When there was 3, at least if one (Rafa) was injured there was 2 competitive great players - and some very competitive, very good players, like Andy and Stan.

Tennis now, without Carlos, has one player left, and the rest of them are just “the draw.”

It’s not healthy…

I have watched a few videos of him in rehab, I just dont want him to come back too soon that is all, after all the hard rehab work., hopefully he will be okay to return in Hamburg in May

We may need to wait for Rafael Jodar to develop. Jodar's rise this year almost reminds me of Jannik Sinner's rise in 2020-21. In fact, Jodar's record up to this point this year almost matches Sinner's record in 2021.

Rise of Jodar is incredible so far. He gave Sinner run for his money in the 2nd set in Madrid.

It is all about the match up with Sinner v Zverev, Sinner targets Zverev's weak fhand side, like most players should do if they have a brain to start with, and Zverev's 2nd serve is also weak, Sinner being one of the best returners in game hammers it with results, he can diffuse a big server, . Zverev needs to be and stay aggressive, or start being aggressive, mix things up serve and volley etc, though when he does try and makes mistakes he re-treats backwards. Even when Zverev had the training block at Rafa's academy, Toni and both Rafa spoke to him to 'stay aggressive' you have to employ aggressive tactics all the time, you cant expect to get results on a one time basis, also he has never tried to improve his fhand since he has been on ther tour and quite frankly I find his game boring.and only watch him if he happens to play one of my favorite players.
