Tennis is in good hands. I will start enjoying tennis again, after the departure of the 3 super stars.
I was certain he had then, this Spanish player had other ideas, he deserved his win todayDamn! But I feel bad for Sinner
Yes, but it surely helped with the bad call that he got the break back, which rather evened it out. You said earlier that it will hurt, because he blew serving for it, but he fought hard, and I think he'll sleep better with that.Damn! But I feel bad for Sinner
And he did. Utterly steamrolled in the 10 point tiebreaker.Alcaraz will break here and steamroll him in set 5. Battle of the 2 dopes.
Yeah, this feels like Roddick at 09 Wimbledon. This is one Sinner should have not lost. He had no double faults in the entire match. It's going to take a while for him to come back from this. Don't be surprised if Sinner is upset early at Wimbledon.Damn! But I feel bad for Sinner
I have said all along Janniks game suits the grass, so I am still keeping the faith, I am disappointed that Jannik could not close out the match, Carlos too good and deserved his win todayJannik did a lot better in the 5th set then I expected, which was more like an easy 6-3. Again, the margins are really thin on clay, thinner than on hards. Wimbledon will be grand.
This is going to go down as one of the worst chokes in recent history. Triple match point in the 4th set...Jannik has a bit of Federer in him: blows everyone away, yet stumbles when it most counts (and against equal players).
On the other hand, even with this loss, you've got to still give the edge to SInner overall: he is significantly more dominant on hards than Alcaraz, but the margins on clay have diminished to nano particles. Wimbledon should be interesting.
But Sinner hung with him and even broke back, so you were wrong. And he did. Utterly steamrolled in the 10 point tiebreaker.
You dont know Sinner at all, he will be disappointed for sure, he will learn from this and reset, dont write him off on the grass, his game suits itYeah, this feels like Roddick at 09 Wimbledon. Novak must be licking his chops seeing these two play a grueling match like this. He's going to be healthy heading into Wimbledon after playing some of his best tennis at Geneva and RG.
Well, it cemented both as all-time greats. They were both there already in my mind, but I think there's really no room for doubt. I think their play in much of this match was on par with peak Big Three - they're both that good. Longevity to be determined, but peak level these guys are both inner circle.Funny you invoked Federer b/c I thought the same thing! It would be hard to tout any Grand Slam Final w/o thinking of Fedalovic, but this match probably will be thought one of the greatest w/ the top 2 players, going 5 sets, saving 3 match points, & winning in a 5th set Super TB! How can that be topped?![]()
