Novak's looking rusty, from what I've seen. Making heavy weather of a guy who'd go out of his way to help him...

There goes Monfils, into tough guy mode... :snigger

He's my least favourite player to watch...

I asked this question in the WTA forum, now I'll ask it here:
Can someone explain to me why a tennis player would hit a ball back to their opponent when the whole court is open? Especially when you've been burned a few times already. I've only been waiting about 40 years for a reasonable explanation.

Great winning point. Shame it ended on such a poor tie break though.

It's a mindset, hard to understand, but we've all done it. A moment of mental fragility...

It's something that drives me stone mad about Fed, k. He does it so, so often. Lame volleys right back to the opponent when the whole other side was wide open. Going for stupid wrong footing attempts when the other side of the court was wide open and the opponent had zero chance of running down any ball hit there. It's bizarre and I wish he'd watch some highlights of his matches and notice it. He does it more than most.

It's bizarre when he has such ability as a shot maker. Mostly pushes the ball and every so often decides to belt it. Sometimes they land in and look spectacular and more often than not the ones hit hard miss by miles. A true headcase.

Fantastic DTL shot by Russell. He's playing very well. Up 5-2 now.
